Testers Needed!

Hendrix

Recommended Posts

For one of the three final projects I'm doing this year, I've had to remix a track.

The likelyness is that I will also have another track to do, but this is what I've done so far;

The track is "The Longest Road - Morgan Page (feat. Lissie)

What I need is some comments on what I've done so far, EQ wise it's not right yet, but musically and instruments wise!

Check It Here

This is just a sampler as the rest is being recovered off my external drive after a crash during a session today.

So yeah, please comments :D

I think its all spot on and all in time

Cheers,

Sam.

Cheers Man!

Once I've sorted out my hardrive, I'll post the main mix to myself - and pop it up here! :)

edit: EEK. I hope I don't max out my website's download limit haha!

Much better than the original, I like it a lot. Good work :)

If you come up with anything else, post it in here as well.

This is the kind of stuff I'd like to see Mike (The Scientist) do.

edit: whack it on youtube when you're finished with it, see how popular it gets.

i know that feeling! Otherwise you just end up tweaking and tweaking and tweaking forever. Need to send PRs album back for a remix now that we've had it a few months I think... you sort of realise some different things you could do.

Loving the track by the way, some good potential.

Update:

New version available here - full tune.

Longest Road Main Mix (V2)

It's just over 4 mins, so if it loads only 11 seconds, you have to keep trying - weebly's gay.

I need to know if things go out anywhere, things stay in tune, and if it's catchy.

Also - how is the light and dark? EQ etc etc.

Cheers!

  • 2 weeks later...
Love it, sounds really proffesional (Y)

Only thing i'd say is the snare at 2:06 seems a tad too loud. Also the song in general seems abit quiet

Just downloaded the remix parts so going to have a go myself :)

I noticed the snare got really loud after I'd uploaded it, doh'!

I've got another version to upload in a bit.

Where'd you get the stems from?

:)

Update

I've done the mixing on the part which suddenly got very loud.

So you can find the updated mix here.

I'm going to dig out my outboard compressors and put it through them, hopefully, for the next mix.

Got two weeks left :(...

Edit : Just so you know, I can't pull the volume up anymore now due to there being a bigger bass end, so it's almost peaking at this level.

Just downloading your latest one at the minute..

Not sure if you've already heard it but check out Deadmau5's remix, really good (Y)

Edit: Sounds much better with the reverse crash
