nc7r Posted August 25, 2008 Report Share Posted August 25, 2008 Hello!Me and a few friends from University and home in Halifax are looking to go on a snowboarding and skiing holiday this January - March. We're all students so very price sensitive. I was wondering if anyone knew of any companies which specialised in student-style holidays to good resorts. I've not been abroad snowboarding yet so I'm a bit of a n00b.I'd prefer to not get a coach if possible and maybe get flights from Manchester or somewhere would be nice.I think that budgets are around £600 so like I said, the cheaper the better.Thanks for any input anyone can give! downhill_rob2@hotmail.com Posted August 25, 2008 Report Share Posted August 25, 2008 If you have a budget of £600, im sure you will have an amazing holiday lolLast year's boarding holiday cost me a total of £395 with lift pass and flights. there was 6 of us and stayed in a hotel was pretty sweet like...I reconmend Alp D'huez, its an absolutly amazing place for boarding, holding the longest black run in europe, and also the steepest black run... its also only 1 hours drive (costing 20 euro) to les duex aswell, which is another awesome place to visit for the day...the best thing to do is look down at your local travel agents, see what they can do for you... hope everything turns out good for you!cheers, rob! Action Outdoors organise all inclusive trips for very reasonable prices to big resorts. We stayed in rooms which contained 2 separate rooms, each containing 2 bunks and the two share one shower/toilet (so a maximum of 8 people sharing bathroom). The food's excellent, all you can eat buffet style including breakfast, lunch and dinner along with 'cakes and tea' in the afternoons. The prices include travel, room, food, lift passes, ski/board/boot hire and full time lessons (if necessary- it's your call whether you use them or not). Mike Beck Posted August 25, 2008 Report Share Posted August 25, 2008 Go to Bulgaria, ive heard the slopes and lifts have picked up now and everything else is soo cheap its unreal, meal for my family - me, my grandad, my gran an my sis. we all had pretty big meals, BIG pizza's and steaks, 4 big beers (2 litres), big bottle of wine and 2 bottled waters, 40 leva ( about 17 quid!!!!)but if you want a good sloped area then val thorens or avoriaz or something like that, but it is very isolated in those very high up areas and there is high tech lift security!, could do andorra - pas de la casa or similar, where you generally dont need a lift pass (but i havent bin for a few years so dont hold me to it!), providing you're going mid-season (snow gets really slushy at the extremes!) but its slightly more expensive and the night life is a bit better, but fags are cheap so could get some money back lol!.so yer, the holidays themselves wont be too expensive, its the ski passes that are a killer!!lewis Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Its for two people, and I'm after ski/boot hire, passes accommodation and travel.Very cheapest..£150 for flights and accommodation£120 for lift pass (bit of a guess..)£80 for hireI'm just back from andorra (to whoever said about not needing a lift pass, its only the higher lifts that applies to, you have to get a lift to them.. unless you fancy a long walk). Elliot Posted January 30, 2009 Report Share Posted January 30, 2009 I heading off to Meribel on Saturday, I found the holiday through a company called DirectSki.com, who I found by looking up the ATOL number of the holiday company found on lastminute.com. I got flights, transfers, ski carrage, lift pass and insurance for £390, although the hotel is meant to be a bit of a dive!If your flexible when/where you go just look for deals on lastminute, there are some cheap offers about!
