Cheap lenses just look shit, that classic big black ring round the lens, shit distortion, poor colours, etc. If you don't care about how good your end footage is going to look then by all means get a cheap one, but if you actually care how it's going to look then it's worth saving up a bit longer then spending the money on a better lens.
