Steve's company makes MASSIVE deisel engines, for some use or other.

I remember him talking about a huge turbo, I think, and sort of betting with this other dude about whether it was going to work, and it didn't. :P

Oh right, cool. Anything to do with shipping type vehicles?

There was something in "best of the net" about some 40 odd foot high engine that used something like a thousand odd gallons of fuel an hour and weighed 2300 tonnes. I'll dig it up and chuck it in here, pretty interesting.

Yeah mining equipment, freight locomotives, power generation and some marine applications. Not sure the turbo argument is correct as such, you might be recalling the discussion me and Andy P had about slapping one of our turbos on either mine or his engines (we both knew it was too big). Besides my speciallity isn't turbos :P

It was something at work, I'm sure, it might've just been for an engine. Anyway you reckoned it wouldn't work and the other guy did, and then when it was tried, it broke the engine.

That sounds more like it, since I work in structural analysis :P
