bagre15
I've recently got an inspired but I can't set up the chain tension properly. Any tips or tutorials on how to set the tension with a trialtech sport tensioner? Thanks
isitafox
What are you struggling with? You basically want to get the tensioner as tight up to the chainstay as possible.
bagre15
It's my first bike with spring tenioner. The chain seems to be pretty slacky. Can I adjust the chain tension on spring tensioners? Any better tensionin solution for a 2013 w/ 22/16?
ghostrider88
Can I adjust the chain tension on spring tensioners? Any better tensionin solution for a 2013 w/ 22/16? Yes you can, but it´s hard to do with the chain in place. Take the chain of the freewheel so it´s loose, set the tension, put the chain back on. Problem sorted. monkeyseemonkeydo
And to set the tension you need to loosen the small pinch bolt (4mm Allen key if memory serves me correctly), increase the preload (that is the position of the lower arm relative to the upper) then tighten the pinch bolt back up. Put the chain back on and you should have increased tension.
