Si-man
Everyone is probably getting mods because they are alot cheaper to buy now (full builds) I think. I love mod, never going back to stock >_<
CalopS
CLS HAs made it very popular Cheaper Bikes From Onza Longer wheel based bikes from Zoo >_<

Tomm
Influx of new riders riding cheaper mods as first bikes, I reckon. But yeah, I've noticed it too.
biketrialler
it was like riding with jesus >_< ← You were riding a pile of crap then!? B) Anywho... yeah, mods are really accepted. There has been some kind of trials boom and Onza's strong converage in MBUK what with adverts, reviews and stuff makes them accessible, and cheap, so newbies get mods. Also just due to the whole concept where for some reason, riders think buying what some super amazing rider has will make them also an amazing rider too. Some of the real good mod riders are pretty involved in the videos scene so its natural lots of people will buy mods. Amen.

JT!
When i first got into trials, i would never have even thought about getting a mod. For a start, do we realy need gears on a trials bike? Trials orginaly came from MTBing, thats the only reason stocks were used. If trials was created from a bmx oriented sport i think mods would have been the first trials bikes used, and stock wouldnt realy exsits. It wouldnt suprise me in, a few decades, that stocks were only ridden by riders who practiced more specific areas of trials, like full on street trials. Trials is a new sport, and products and methods still being developed. The people who are the best at this sport now, will only been seen as second best when the next generation of riders comes along, because theres no current trials rider, who has ridden trials since a very young age, as it wasn't a sport back then. I belive these people will be riding mods, and doing things we wouldnt even dream of, and stocks will be a thing of the past. I think that more and more people are getting into mods as it is easier to learn on. They're much more chuckable, and easier all around to get started. The main advantage of stocks is the wheel sise, which much more leverage to go bigger. Maybe in the future we will 24" bikes, designed on mods beening more popular, having the same feel as a mod, but with bigger wheels. >_<
Michael Hardman
Also mod riders are going as big if not bigger in some cases than stock rider
Jimbo Limbo (Trials Chimp)
When i first got into trials, i would never have even thought about getting a mod. For a start, do we realy need gears on a trials bike? Trials orginaly came from MTBing, thats the only reason stocks were used. If trials was created from a bmx oriented sport i think mods would have been the first trials bikes used, and stock wouldnt realy exsits. Biketrials came from Mototrials, and the first biketrials bike was a Monty Mod. I dont know who first had the idea of using a mtb for trials, probably just progressed from pulling wheelies and stuff. I think Onza deserve a lot of credit for the popularity of Mod bikes, as they offer some pretty good value bikes, and most of the mod riders around are on one. Mods are easier to ride too, so they're more appealing to beginners.
kerley
I think it may also be due to people seeing mod bikes and because they are not as normal or as much like a normal mtb they are more associated(sp?) with trials. I know its kind of like that in my area anyway.
011001000110010101110010
They are also easier to maintain, but harder to set up initially...
