yea I am glad i didn't fall on a rail.

I pulled the brake but it didn't lock beacuse as i found out later the right hand brake piston thing was loose even though the bolts were tight. I think the threads are damged in the frame or something. Manufacturers deffect I reckon.

I landed on my cockix (sp) and hurt it a bit and my neck hurts. Apart from that i feel ok and very lucky that i didn't seriously injure my self. (Y)

yeh too right, there isnt really much you can do to protect yourself from falling on your back thats why from then on ive been a bit weary about doing rails (Y) i mean the slightest slip and you can really injure yourself good and proper, just really lucky this time (Y)

yea i find that mod's loop out real easy, especially if the brake slips.

ha ha! thanks to me recording it!!

damn as you can hear from my voice quote: "you alright?" it didn't look so bad on the tiny screen....ah well you rode well afterwards though which is good.

hope you'll be fine in the next few days because thats when the pain start kicking in properly....so you might need to take a few days off work :)

That must have hurt  :P can't believe you were able to stand up after that  :)

woke up this morning and the first thing i noticed was the rather uncomfortable pain in my neck. back doesn't hurt a bit though. (N)

As for the bike, it only scrached the bar ends and mashed up the cages on one of the crapy VP pedals.

The reason for the brake slipping was that the brake kept coming loose every time i tried to ride the bike, even though the bolts seemed to be tight. so i think the 2 bolts on the left hand side of my frame have been cross threaded or something. I tried to remove the bolts to inspect them but they just wouldn't move. so will hopefully be sending the bike back.

thanks for all the replies.

When i landed on the wall there was a split second where I thought that i had broken my back. And you know what its like, it usually takes a few seconds for the pain to kick in, but thankfully i wasn't in too much pain. Was a bit dazed though.

thanks to Stinkee (steve) for catching it on film. :)

I've done that on a rail. It winded me that bad I actually couldn't breathe, and I thought of the worst straight away. :)

Unlucky though. Yeah as someone said, sort brake out/put tar on or something man you don't want that happening all time.

i have the same bike and i had problems with my brake. i just couldnt get it to clamp around the magura piston tight enough. gave it a whole load of torque and snapped the bolt leaving a headless thread in the frame. had to drill the out which was an arse. i think i have solved it now though. on the magura clamp i filled off the little stopper (bout 2mm of metal between the clamps) so that i can tighten the clamp up until it actually clamps the magura piston not just touch the other mount. works fine now

not sure if your problem is the same thought it sounded quite similar .
