You dont miss power steering if you havent had a car with it already

Eeven if you have lessons in a car with power steering, you dont properly get used to it. And will only take a day driving a car without to forget about it. Plus the polo isnt really a heavy handling car

Whenever i see anyone trying to park without power steeting it reminds me how much i love it lol, WHats even more fun though is speed sensitive power steering (Y) thats the shizzle.

i doubt on any small car you could really notice powered steering or not, obviously age of the car could give it away, but its cars like s type jags which need powered steering to move.

VW/Rover for the win (Y)  :)

I'd agree but After about 1994ish rover went crap, and i dunno if anyones seen a rover 200 engine there is like hardly any room my uncles a mechanic and he wont touch them for that reason there shit hard to work on and there just crap full stop.

Oh

Nice car by the way :P

Talking about VW.

I'd love to own a VW Golf GT TDI 150bhp PD Engine. My fav car ever. I can't wait to drive my dads hes learning me in it. I don't know if I should though, 'cos hes upgraded ECU his self and its ridiculously fast, pulls immensely for a diesel and goes about 150-155mph. we was doin 140 on way back from Blackpool and it was still going. So... Who thinks I dhould learn in his van or the golf? (Y)

The golfs were GTI's on MK1's, GTI's, G60's on Mk2's. For the MK3 Polo's there were G40's, and GT's. The G40/60's are supercharged and generally the quicker of the bunch although I like a good MK1 1.6 8v gti myself (naturally aspirated)- just got to love the retro :P

Looks like a nice car you've got there man the GT's are really good value now just watch for the rust and headgasket. How many miles does it have? I'm guessing about 110,000.

They can look delicious too with only a litlew bit of work, give yours a good polish and it will look 100 times better just with that, also some new number plates maybe as your's are a little faded.

All in all nice one mate, hope the insurance isn't too much of a killer. Now, for some inspiration...

As far as modding goes, these are my plans:

BBS 13 or 14's

60 f 40 r Lowering kit

Euro style plates

Clear front and side indicators

And yeah, it's a due a good T-Cut polish and Back To Black bumper clean-up :P

I'll post pics once it's all clean and modded :P

BTW: Insurance is £859 TPFT

Yeah I got quotes on loads of 1.4's, all slower, all more on insurance.

I think the factors involved are:

Engine size (Regardless of whats faster)

How many get stolen or crashed (Polo MK3s are rare so less thefts and boy racer deaths / damages)

How much the car is worth ( I put £1000 but i'll change it to £550 and see what they quote me now!)

That makes me laugh.........

Every quote I do I put in less than 5000 miles per year

Put the value of my car as £600

Tried over 30 insurers online in the last 2 weeks.

Confused was crap, best they got me was from Admiral for £2200

Try your details, exactly the same, but put the postcode as L215JU, house no.5

See what that gets you........

Should be intresting

Yeah, I know. I've got (Well technically it's my Mum's :"> ) a 1.6, and although it's not actually any faster than the 1.4 16v, it's still very nippy and good for at least 120mph. When I buy a car, I'd definitely look at getting another Polo, they are cool :P

My Prelude.

0-60 in 6.4 standard(and its no where near standard!

165mph down the A13

Chris

Hehe wanna race :P

Golf 1.9 GT TDI Diesel. (6gears)

or maybe a touch faster

Golf V6 4-Motion (4WD) (6gears)

Both around same speed, the V6 could be alot faster if he upgraded ECU.
