hey i have used a pc i own 1 but i do feel if you used a mac for a long time then i feel you might think they r better. yes if you get gd anti-virus u will b fine but with a mac i was running it for 6 + years with no anti virus and was fine. but theres no point arguing.

Leave the poor boy alone to revise English :P

if that directed at me i dont see the point in it and getting personal like that.

Also if you want to expand your PC when it goes out of date, or when new hardware is available you can. However imacs are a bit more complicated and if you've ever seen inside one of those flat screen ones, you'll understand how expanding may become a problem...

Jason.

hey fair point but a mac wont go out of date as quick and if you realy want to you can send it to apple and they will do it. but thats a gd point there is 1 down side

Hey if you are looking for a reliable computer then u should save your money and get a imac.

viruses = no ( not liek on a windows any ways)

crashing = no

better video editing = yes

better graphics = yes

space saving = yes ( why have a base unit when all you need is a screen )

windows = (N)

mac = (Y)

but if you are looking for somthing easy to use no need to learn a new operating system then stay with windows you will find it cheaper and easier to get programes. thats if u r fine with virsues and crashing computers and annoying people on the end of the phone if you ring with a problem.

you could just get a normal pc, and run a version of Linux as the operating system, it's a good os, and since most of the viruses are written in linux they don't affect it. and you can get a program which runs windowns programmes in linux.

or you could make a very very very basic base unit, and use your current periferals (sp) to set aup a linux firewall then put them back on your normal pc, and run a crossover cable through your 'Linux box' and you don't have to worry about viruses.

Emery you do seriously need to take spelling lessons or something, your spelling and attitude on this forum stinks.

Before you start insulting me, let me just remind you that you will be banned if you carry on as you are, so if i was you, i'd have a long hard think to myself on whether i should become a better person on this forum.

Tip... Make your posts better. I.e. make it 100% clear on what you want/need, and then others can understand and then give you a prompt reply.

Yours.... Hoot :)

I know PC's go out of date quickly but they're fine for a few years before you need to upgrade. My dad has had his Pc for 6 years now I think. It's still fine and he's not had to send anything back or phone Microsoft. Hardly anyone I know has had to phone MS because their PC has broken...

PC's for the win. End of. :P

Saying that I wouldn't mind a Mac Mini or something. They're pretty cool.

macs are definatly more stylish, but with PCs you get more for your money.

Jason.

Pc stands for personal computer, and a mac is also a personal computer... sorry jason i didn't mean to be picky, but i jus thought i'd let you know!

The way i see it, if you have been brought up with Mac's, then using a Pc is going to feel different, so then your going to think Mac's are better, now if your like me and you've been brought up with Pc's, then your going to think they are better (Even though they are, and a Mac will never beat a Pc!)

I've had my pc stay at the same spec for years now and it runs BF2 perfic and CoD2 beautifully. Maybe that's due to my 256mb gfx card and gig of ram but hey.... I've never done any major wiping i.e. reformatting for the 6/7 years I've had it. It's fine. Just got AVG free edition (NAV doesn't count 'cus its crapper than sticky crap on a stick) and I visit sites that I maybe shouldn't..............Don't be dirty! Just Torrent sites.

Basically, my pc has been over-used and abused and it's fine. Hell of alot better than a Mac I'll tell you. For one the PCs at my high school don't crash when you change the background unlike the Macs at my junior school......

Nearly everyone in this topic is referring to linux/windows based computers as pc's. I wouldn't be giving advice if I didn't know the difference (Y)
