It is the first of january 1973, but you're right about constructed not registered. We've got a lorry that misses that date by about a week, 165 quid rather than free

The MOT is a sort of minimum standard. A bit like going round your bike, pinching the tyres with your thumb and making sure the chain hasnt fallen off. Its no guarantee that the thing will work properly. Your best bet is to find a friend who knows about cars, he'll point out the dodgy bits, and not charge you for the privilege like the testing station will. Get yer wallet out
-
When you say used the chain before, did you use it on another chainring before this one? Has it been jumping ever since you've had the new bash? Are the pins in the chain catching the inside of the bash?

No way, nothing to stop you cancelling your insurance the day after you get the tax disc though It'll need to be on someone's insurance to be taxed, you can get the MOT sorted out beforehand though. Chances are with a mini, you'll have it nicely in pieces by the time you're seventeen

Tax, MOT and insurance are all linked together. The best way to do it is insure it, take it for an MOT, once you have the MOT pass certificate and your insurance certificate you can get it taxed. Then onwards you are legal (provided the thing is roadworthy). Every vehicle will need to be taxed. How much that tax costs you (from nil to well over 4 figures) depends on the class of vehicle. The "no tax" you're thinking of is the concession to vehicles first registered before the first of January 1973, they go for free. That mini, I should imagine will be about 60 quid for 6 months.

Normal fags do stink like hell, some decent baccy doesnt though, and I dont particularly mind being around people who are smoking roll ups. Smoking around children is bloody stupid though.

Depends wether it's her or her bunch of managers and business brains that put the clothing/merchandise together and make her impossible to avoid. To my mind, royalty have at least got the dignity to realise nobody particularly cares for what they do. Besides, the duchy of cornwall do a pretty damn good job of making money out of what they have, wouldnt you say? To get back on topic, do the two fatalities in this last rally bring the accident rate for gumball above the average in that country?

Doesnt make it right. I just hope the polish police doesnt live upto its normal reputation and let the wankers off in return for a hefty backhander.

I'm slowly coming to the conclusion that a lot of riders are gutless and useless. The wisest thing MBUK ever said was that any good trials rider should be able to make any bike sit and beg. The T-raptor is outdated, but certainly not hard to ride, they handle well and suit shorter riders. The weight of the bike is dependant on the build, the frame itself is around 4.5 pounds so not heavy by any stretch of the imagination. If anything, the close relationship to a cross country frame will make for any easy learning curve. You wont win championships on it (I'm not sure wether Akrigg ever did but it certainly didnt seem to hold him down much), but it'll do you for a year or two. Provided it isnt knackered, £170 quid isnt bad. You may want a new back wheel after a while, and a new chain as soon as you get it for safety's sake

Braided Cross Overs..what Do You Use And Where From?

Water works, it feels all wrong to me though, I notice the lack of oilyness. Paraffin definately works, been using that a few months now -
I dunno what the sealing arrangements in a turbo are like, but excessive play in the shaft in any direction will screw up the best seals in the world. If blades were missing off the compressor or turbine, it'd be badly out of balance and vibrate like a b*****d, not to mention it probably wouldve thrown the blade through the side of the turbo. My money is on a buggered turbo, so get your reciepts together and get ready for a good barney with the garage

At hope, might even come back at some point soon. We best kill this conversation kiddo, place is enough of a mess already

Havent got one of them f**kers neither

Ignore kris, art student, say no more

Consider that picture, then consider that there probably isnt much more than an inch of difference between a straight line and the chainline around that jockey wheel

Nah not you, we've got plenty of home-grown muppets round here

The Incredible Frame Buildar From Peru-marino Bikes
dave85 replied to ronnytrials's topic in Bike Pictures
Roughly sod all, about £25 quid at the moment. -
I would disagree with what scouser says. Fit the second wheel back in the mech and get the whole lot back up under the dropout as you have it. That picture shows a distinct lack of chain wrap around the rear sprocket, using the mech as designed would at least take one variable out of the equation.

When I can ride, I do, sadly those days are numbered in tens a year I get stick for it, because I do have quite a few bikes, but I gained them through hard work and resource. The "you've got loads of bikes give me one" mentality pisses me off bigstyle.

The crank thing is quite common, if the old steel Megamos had been built with straight chainstays, they'd have the same problem. Megamo put a kink in the tube to clear the cranks, perhaps make a pair of dies up to put an s-bend in the tube?
