  1. The failing of the plastic TPA is no real safeguard of the rest of the brake, they're just a nuisance.
  2. Well it works, needs a damned good booster with clearance (XTR is very close to the tyre). The vee boss is set in the bottom hole of the 4-bolt mounts, for more power and better cable clearance over the top of the tyre, but it wouldnt work if the wheel was any further back. Holds better than most maguras to be honest.

Talk to me beau, might be able to save your skint arse a few quid...
  4. You might be able to sidehop, but you have a lot to learn about the world. I presume you know your witnesses? In which case, they arent independant, and their evidence will be looked on very carefully for bias. To be devil's advocate, its not like the coppers were on the scene and took statements, you had the best part of the afternoon to cook the story up between you and your witnesses.
  5. You only need one, a weight of opinion will be taken into account but where one side disagrees completely with the other and there are no independant witnesses, the beak will find for whoever he likes the look of. Get a good suit
  6. And you shouldnt have been on the path, her indescretions do not excuse yours.
  7. Depends where it is, you can't get to the other side of most panels without a fair bit of stripping work, its only reasonable that she'll wants a garage to sort it out so the labour costs are gonna be horrific.

  9. The braze on kit that you can get from CRC is just that, for brazing (or welding) to steel frames.
  10. Make some mounts from alloy plate, they're not a hard thing to get right. Tig them in, I can't help you with filler rod types but tig will do the best job.
  11. Witnesses who were actually there, or your mates? EDIT: also bugger all help having witnesses who are going to incriminate you by saying you were on the pavement too

Im intriegued, can you justify that lot? T45 would make perfect sense to me, it isnt fussy about how it's treated during construction, and isnt butted. Given the abuse trials unis seem to go through, plain gauge tubing would be good.
  14. But usually intersected by side turnings, shared with other users and covered in glass/thorns/dog muck etc. Don't misunderstand me, there are good ones, but they take the form of roads for bikes rather than bits of pavement covered in white paint.
  15. Hmm, hit the car but bounced off, does it count? Was this gate within a wall or a fence? (as in could you have seen the car coming if you'd looked sideways?). You've pretty much admitted liability, you'd need a bloody good lawyer to argue that you were allowed on the pavement, and if you'd been wearing a lid you wouldnt be sitting with a headache now. With a bit of luck the dent will pull out without too much work.
  16. The clamps are pretty easy to make, drill a piece of wood (best to be about an inch thick or more) 5mm, then saw it in half through the hole.
  17. Hell's bells its Corish mk. II I'd imagine these sentiments are wasted on you, but how about not burning up fuel on pointless trips? Petrol doesnt come out of a magic tree you know, one day it will run out and waaaaay before that its gonna get damnably expensive. If people are getting stressed out at being held up for less than a minute by a bike, they need help. One minute in your journey extra. Infact if you're a good driver and the rider is licking along nicely (and looks confident, the main bit) , it takes a very very narrow road not to be able to pass him. If you're bored just going round and round, try doing what every one else does and take a journey to somewhere, its not rocket science. If you're sweating on a short trip, you're unfit or not dressed right. The answers are there, if you can think for long enough to see them.
  18. A plentiful supply of spares will be thereabouts if you need something
  19. But you still got up the obstacle, so that counts. Wether you want to get clean on top, or fall back off again is a matter of style choice.
  20. You called her all the names under the sun last week
  21. Funny how it doesnt matter how long it takes you, yet whenever anyone's individual record is asked, the total magically gets time knocked off for messing around, injuries, winter, weather, girlfriends etc.
  22. Or inch-chasers? Falling onto and off big walls is not street, its trials in its most basic and boring form.
