  1. IM saurprised that they could actually realise you were on a actual trials bike. Or was it pure chance that day they spoke to you? How much are they claiming they would fine you? And yeh I agree I would just peg it. Phil P.S caught*
  2. COULD NOT AGREE MORE. Everytime someone says something to me all I think is that im enjoying being young. Phil
  3. haha steady on! I agree with taking in more energy but it's (in my opinion) abit full on to like wake up at a special time or plan when your meal is going to be just because your gonig for a trials ride. If it was like competition maybe I'd think differently. All you need for Winter is Lucozade and twix's. Phil
  4. HAHA yeh I agree. I was going to tell the old person that when I was older my taxes would go towards keeping him alive - but I thought it unnecersarry. Yeh some idiots out there has to be said. Phil Ha yeh. I dont know about you guys but what I get asked every ride I go on is 'where is your seat?' Yet im comforted when some people say 'look he must be a trials rider' (only a couple do) which atleast means the profile of the sport isn't too low. Phil P.S cheers for all your views guys
  5. Yeh thats the same here - I like it like that. I'll give you a shout for a ride sometime if you would be up for it I live not far from reading. Right guys, Im off for a ride, will continue this topic later. Phil
  6. Yeh completely. If people are polite to me I'll be polite back but when people just jump in with some crap about their taxes having to be paid towards walls like that we ride it makes me judge them as idiots straight away. We dont get troulbe from the cops here in Fleet atall because it isn't a big place but I can imagine in a massive town/city there must be loads around. There is one old guy who tried to take my friend out just for riding on the pavement! I hope I never get old and grumpy Phil
  7. Yeh I kinda agree but your not thinking of the right sense of the word 'antisocial' its not to do with like friends. Its to do with the community and disrubting others. Like an ASBO (anti social behaviour order) is something you can get for loads of stuff. And unfortunately people dont know whether you are riding UCI style and they probably dont even know if your riding a bmx or a trials bike so from their view any riding would be bad. If anytihng I have more people smile at me when im riding because they are impressed than people who grumble. Phil That is absoultely mad. How do you tackle this? Ride more natural stuff? Phil
  8. Everyone gets the odd person asking them to get off something whilst street riding. But have any of you guys ever been seriously done by the law for riding places? The only reason I ask this is because im abit worried as I know if I ever got done for criminal damage from riding something I wasn't supposed too my dad would actually destroy my bike. I showed my mum a sick riding video (Neil Tuncliffe) and she thought it was really 'antisocial' Discuss Phil
  9. I would like to find out more information as it sounds really good. I've added you. (phartley_you_want_some@hotmail.com) cheers Phil
  10. Allrite mate. I rode Basingstoke today was good. Im not 100% if I can ride tomorrow (away from fleet which is crap) but I'll give you a call to arrange if so. Got an msn account or mob number? because im guessing you wont be at work on a sunday Can't garuntee anytihng so if you can arrange a ride with someone esle go for it. Cheers Phil Basingstoke is one short train ride from reading. Its preety good. Give me a shout if you feel like riding Basingstoke someother time dude. Phil
  11. Yeh its an absolute joke - I can only get an hour / hour half in after school in the light Do you guys like night riding? Going back to the discussion I dont find I get knackered more quickly I just find it frustrates me like my ears being freezing and my arms being on fire. Also I feel less hard when its cold - like if I stack im just gonna get detroyed but when im warm all over I feel alot more safe. Phil
  12. Huh? What is that supposed to mean? Phil
  13. Ha yeh I know cheers. But I havent been riding for that long probably just over a year so im not an amazing standard. Thought there might be more people my level on the new members section. See its all about target audience Phil
  14. Just knocking around with some ideas. Me and my mate will be riding this saturday probably in basingstoke. Anyone interested in a ride. Want to get to know some other trials riders in the area. Phil
  15. Its all about the Street for me. Maybe its jsut because I live in quite an urban area. I could make the effort to ride into the countryside but I dont saee it being worth it with the riding available around me. But infact after about another month of intense riding im gonna go to a naturall riding club in Southhampton - should be fun Phil
  16. Where abouts is kendal then? Phil
  17. Slapped you?! that is actually ridiculous! You should not have to take that from a random old guy he had no right but I think you handled it well. I find there are 2 types of old people when im riding. The ones who smile at you and say how impressive what your doing is and the ones who frown at you and possibly complain about what your riding on. Phil

    Im Back!

That is quality. I know what you mean. After jsut a few weeks off I started aching abit more than usual when I got back in. Looks like you got a preety good deal hope you have fun riding it. AND more importantly get that Carling off the radiator - warm beer is never good! Phil
  19. Yeh they are very extensive instructions and are very handy. Wish I had had them when I started out Phil
  20. This is no use to you but that helmet, in my opinion, looks absolutely terrible. The shape and colours just don't look good. Phil
  21. Oh yeh good point...that will all add up. How much does an Onza screw on cost? Is it as strong as in one piece? Yeh I got the bashplate from my onza cranks, its a four bolt. But if its an onza screw on it may fit? Phil No doubt they are but abit out of my price range for the time being Phil
  22. I wouldn't buy a mech disk for trials if I was you. I know it may seem like the best thing to do but its worth putting in the extra £20 or whatever and getting a hydraulic. Just looking around this is the cheapest hydraulic disk I could find. http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Kits.aspx?ModelID=7876 Can't think why that wouldn't do the job? Phil
  23. Yeh mate I'll do that - I just want my cranks soon so I can get out riding though. cheers, Phil
  24. Thats would be good, my mate has middleburns - strong as anything. Wouldn't know where to get any second hand though. Phil

    Hook Woods

I live in Fleet and Hook is just one station towards Basingstoke from my town. Is the riding supposed to be good there? Phil
