  1. Mine does that every time I rebuild it. Take the wheel out, remove the bolts but leave the end caps on, place one end cap on a block of wood and give the one on the upside a good twatting with a soft mallet, (I have one with plastic heads). Then flip the wheel and repeat. Then put the wheel in, overtighten the bolts then wind them back off. Sounds pretty agricultural but it's worked both times for me.
  2. Happy birthday mate! Did you get a flocked cake by any chance? That was really shit wasn't it...
  3. I'm downloading it seeing as my telly and internet won't let me watch it. 17% done, ETA before I get home tonight.
  4. Wonder what a game shop would give you for it if you trade it in? If it was still sealed etc. Tell them you bought it in error, they might give you £30-35, then you're making money.
  5. They use a live stock control system unlike some shops, (Trialsman), so when you add something to your basket, it reserves one for you straight away, then when you pay, it's allocated to your order. Or at least that's how I believe it works. No idea how they managed to post it to you that quick though, that's pretty mad!

    Netbooks

LIES! I use photoshop and dreamweaver CS3 on mine all the time, (I'm a web design student), and it works perfectly well. Apparantly upgrading the ram dents the battery performance, so I've stuck with 1gb, which is perfectly alright for everything I've thrown at it so far. It is indeed! some will hack 720p if you're running it from the HD, but I think it can drop a few FPS at times. Mine is fantastic for running TV quality stuff though, and will stream the iPlayer with no trouble at all. EDIT: They were talking about an .mkv file, it's fairly new and I havn't used it much yet, but I know that mine struggles to run some of the 720p .avi video I have.

    Netbooks

I love my netbook, it's pretty silly how virtually every person I know takes the piss and say things like, "How can you see what you're typing on that little screen", having never actually tried one. There arn't any that will run true HD yet though, they're simply not designed for it, most seem to use the Intel Atom single core 1.66ghz HT processor, and it's simply not powerful enough for it. It's designed for surfing the internet, and doing desktop work, both of which mine handles perfectly well. If you want my advice, go for one with a fairly small HD, apparantly that maks the battery life better because it has less platters or something like that. I'd recommend getting one with Wireless N aswell. If you're a big typer, I'd go for a Samsung, my NC10 keyboard is incredibly good, I routinely type on it all day long with no issue at all.
  9. No-one gonna mention heatsink reds on a mental grind on an Echo rim? Best brake I've ever tried! Not just in the wet in the dry aswell.
  10. Meh, I have £50 on the desk, I need sleep not more cash.
  11. I'll vouch for Adam being a thoroughbred b*****d... What the f**k am I doing here? Suppose I gotta make the 4AM mark now...
  12. You'll have to seriously f**k up to manage to fry it. I've seen people get to 4.2ghz on air completely stable with that CPU.
  13. Leaving a 920 at 3.3ghz is like most things. Pointless. 4ghz or die trying!
  14. I'll see you, and raise you....
  15. That's the only temp that really matters to be honest, you need to get it stable and fairly cool when it's been running at 100% for a couple of hours. (Some people say 8 hours, but when are you going to run it at 100% for 8 hours).
  16. This is one of the best validation attempts I've ever seen, or worst, I can't really tell... Like when you put your hand under a really hot tap and it feels cold at first? Like that.

    Godlike.
  18. All seems healthy to me, you need to test it under load though, so every core/thread is running at 100%. Personally I use Prime95 for that, seems to work really well.
  19. Surprisingly often! (I'm only at 3.8ghz, but close enough. ) Well not every core, but I routinely max out one core, like when converting videos or using programs that only use one core. Anything that takes a while to complete basically, if it's a big task it will use the full speed of the core. Or at least that's how I understand it, from watching mine I'll often see one core at 100% whilst another is below 20%. EDIT: I was just watching mine becuase you mentioned it, core 2 spiked to 100% whilst core 4 spiked to about 30%, and core 1 and 3 stayed at 0%.
  20. Sweet! Did you get the CPU cooler seated nicely and the cables all well managed? A good test to check how well the CPU seated is to watch the temps and see what the difference is between the highest and lowest core temp under load. You going to overclock it straight away or get it all "bedded in" first?
  21. Tis a K hanger mate. I'm 99% certain, best to check with the tartyslags though.
