Because I have slightly over half a brain. My CPU was £160, is 3.4ghz standard, and can be clocked to 4ghz with relative ease, and because I went for the AMD, it cost about £100-150 less than going i7. I also fancied something new, I've always had Intel and this is a fecking rocket ship. And they run very, very cool, I tested it using Prime95 for an hour, it wouldn't go over 43C at 3.82ghz. I like AMD a lot now though, and it's called the Phenom II 965 Black Edition, which is dead dead cool.

Noice! I was thinking of going down the Q8400 route, but decided that I might aswell spend the extra £200 and get DDR3 ram and an AM3 socket processor. I can't get it overclocked though! It keeps crashing and being ghey, I can't get the voltages right. I got it to 3.8, but no further. It kept crashing, so now it's back to stock, and that was based on an overclock profile aswell, I'm going to learn to do it manually, hopefully I can get it to 4ghz.

I'd recommend my course then, we do a lot of development stuff. At the moment we're doing a programming unit in VB, just to learn the basics then I think there are options for other languages in the second year, including one for Linux.

You put it in the other side, so the main section of the BB (normally mounts into the drive side), pop a spacer on there, before you put the cup in the other side. I wouldn't use an 18" bar on it either, that's just asking for it to strip, they're only a fine thread you know....
