Front Mono Trial, rear magura bled with water or silkoline pro cool in the winter, with a splitter and plastic hosing, perfect. On stock anyway, dual Mono Trial on a mod all the way.

Looks AMAZING! Love the graphics. My tensioner won't fit it though, is it coming with one? No mech hanger either. EDIT: Actually I reckon I'll get my tensioner to fit, I'll just stick some washer under it in the recess on the dropout. My bolts are long enough. My tensioner takes the place of the hub bolt spacer/washer thing though. I'll sort something though, I've never had a problem I couldn't solve.

Looks sweet that mate, what pads are they in the back? What is it, 06 Typhoon maybe? Buxton ride soon? I want a bit on that beast, i havn't ridden a mod with a rear maggy for ages.

Yeh if you run an Echo rim, or a ronnie or something that holds a grind well, get the PhatPads material aswell. They're unreal! Still good on a Koxx/Atomz rim though, just take a while to wear in once the grind has gone blunt.

I'd recommend the PhatPads backings. They're really slim so you can set the slaves in closer, they're nice and stiff and they're not too tight on the slave clip thingy, so they shouldn't snap them off as easy as heatsink ones.

I'd strip it and see whats what next, if the axle has snapped, you can easily send it back to hope and they'll probably send out a new one on warrenty. Sending the axle alone will save you having to debuild the wheel. I'd say it sounds like a snapped axle, but you need to strip it first to see what's wrong.

I use Wellgo MG-1s, they're light, comfy, grippy and strong.

It's not a good idea stretching the springs, they can snap if you stretch them apparantly. It's more important just making sure they're clean inside, mines 2 years and 3 months old and it still works nice and smooth, I've only cleaned it out twice.

They almost always break at the elbow. They're probably just getting old mate, I'd just get some new ones and rebuild the wheel if I were you, theres a really good article on it in the Wiki.

That wouldn't stop the axle turning though would it. I'd try putting the other bolt in a dropout and doing the other bolt up tight, then the axle should be locked up and you can get some force on the stuck bolt.

I just downloaded Halo 1 for the PC. Forgot how good it was! It's old enough so my computer will run it on a widescreen resolution aswell, which is a bonus.

These rims just don't grind up well, and it goes blunt really quick. Still, they're working well enough now.

Depends how stiff you want it, if it fits and works fine without the spacers then by all means do it. It will probably make the brake slightly stiffer and make it sit lower to the frame and look cleaner.

Just thought I'd say how I bleed mine. Set the lever blade right out with the TPA wound right out. Set the lever pointing vertically down first.Fill the syringe and tube with fluid, get as much air out as possible.Hang a pot from the bar/lever blade with a tube going into it from the lever bleed bolt, stick some fluid in there so the end of the tube is submerged.Push the fluid through, then pull it back, then push it through, then pull it back. Pump the lever, flick everything, push it through and pull it back several times until no bubbles come out of the tube connected to the lever.Disconnect the syringe. At this point fluid will start to drain down slowly from the lever end, don't worry it's just sucking it in from the pot, this helps as you can screw the bleed bolt back in as the brake is pushing fluid out so you can't get air trapped under it.Take the pot away from the drain tube on the lever, it won't run out because it's secured at the other end. Keep it tipped up a bit anyway.Tip the lever up vertically then put your thumb over the end of the hose, and unscrew the hose, your thumb sealing the end will stop the fluid running out.Make sure the recess for the lever bleed bolt is filled with fluid and is vertical, then screw the bleed bolt in.Then set the lever in to where you want it and wind the TPA in a little bit and set the lever flat or pointing up a bit, then crack the bleed bolt with a rag under it, it should push a little bit of fluid and air out, let it drain for a while with the bleed bolt undone about half a turn, then once it stops flowing the slaves will have hit their stops, so tighten the bolt back up. It's never failed yet, I get results just as good as with a bucket bleed. This might solve your problem, but you never know, bath bleeds are dead easy, so you might have a sealing problem or something...

Nah I'd never run a King, I hate the way the engagement feels, I need a really notchy clunky solid engagement. It still works out at about 60 EPs at the crank which I find is perfect. I've always had a Tensile on my Mod, I hate anything with more than that, they just don't feel clunky enough. The tensioners amazing, I've hit it really hard once, it just twisted up around the axle bolt until it hit the underside of the frame, and I just pulled it back down with my fingers, it gives really good tension aswell.

Ah good point I should have thought of that. I've only ever had to do it on steel frames in the past. I didn't notice it was a stem, I've never seen a stem with thick powder coating? Sanding or shotblasting should get it off no trouble.

You can do it easily, I used to have XP on one and Ubuntu on the other. You can actually use one hard drive and have both installed on it, I don't no how you choose which one you want when you boot up, but I think it lets you share your documents and stuff.

Well you can't, it's mine. I'm not going to chane it, I just fancy something with a steeper head angle, a shorter wheelbase, higher bb and doesn't flex as much, but for the minute I'm just going to ride it, it suits me really well.

Haha cheers mate. I think I'd rather have something else though, like an XR26 or a Rockman. This is a bit flexy so the tyre rubs the frame and the pads rub the rim when I pedal hard, but it doesn't cause too much trouble to be honest. I doubt I'll change much now apart from experimenting with brake pads and similar stuff, I'm really happy with it now.
