They were the worst drives for failures in a study I read a month or so ago. Hitachi have the best life expectancy at the moment.

They're approach shoes. They're for walking to the crag in and can be used for scrambling and stuff too. I've never really understood the need for them though, I just have walking boots. I think they're OK for driving in though, whereas walking boots are pretty annoying I believe.

Climbing shoes gives lots of support so you can focus your body weight on the tips of your toes without it hurting. Kinda like ballet shoes.

All the decent brands make good shoes these days. You just need whatever fits you the best. The first pair of shoes I bought took 2 hours in the shop of trying on many many pairs.

It's slipping too badly and rattling too much to be just the oil IMO. I'm going to strip it down next weekend (hopefully) and see what is what. I suspect the clutch bearing is shot, and the clutch plates and springs will be worn. To replace the plates, springs and bearing will only cost about £75 though at most. I can't find a single other thing wrong with it really though, well happy with it for £600! It's probably got around 13.5l or so of normal tank. Seems very small to me on a bike aimed at commuting and touring. The previous owner managed to get around 170 miles to a tank though so pretty good economy wise. 50-55mpg or so.

Nooo, definitely a case of buy once, wear them out if you ask me...

Tis great! More comfortable than my sofa and enough power to do 60 on any road, so perfect for some summer touring I hope. Unfortunately it does have rather epic clutch slippage when accelerating hard in 5th and 6th gears. This stops it from going over 85, or so I'm told... It's a typical Honda in several ways though. The fuel tank is a pippette (I brimmed from reserve-20m and it took 14.5l) and it's too bloody complicated in many ways. Luckily though, the clutch is incredibly simple and nothing else seems to be broken or dodgy at all!

Within a couple of weeks you'll be able to tell the difference between decent shoes and cheap ones.

Aye that's my thinking, just need some like minded partners!

Honestly, no! We've only been together 2.5 years, which I don't consider long-term to be honest. It's getting that way though. Definitely past the honeymoon bit and considering making longer term plans together. (Moving out of the city and stuff like that). There's some big things to deal with one day though. She may want children and definitely wants to get married (during her lifetime, not necessarily to me), I don't want kids at all and not keen on marriage either... Time will tell. I think we'll grow together to be honest but there's work to do. Not exactly successful yet then haha. -
Awesome dude! I'm pretty desperate to get out for some winter action but it's not looking promising this year... I know people who go up to Scotland several times a year but they're all leading at grade 4/5 or so, and I want to be doing far easier stuff than that. I know I'm probably capable of seconding grade 4 but I'd rather start at grade 1 and work my way up.

Quoting out of context ever so slightly there? Here's the real quote. Reads completely differently.

That's not how forums work mate, mention names! If you don't it comes across as, "I've got a this point to make, but I'm not going to say who about because I want to avoid a discussion about it". The fact you posted that (almost) right after my post advising UKHippy to look for other girls too does suggest that you were aiming it slightly at me. I'm not being automatically defensive, but I genuinely can't see how it's bad advice? If the girl was crazy about him, she'd make time for him. In the mean time, why not look for someone else to date? I've turned down girls before in order to hold out for another one, and it has worked (once), but doesn't get you a lot of action... -

Chase other girls, wait to see if the date happens. Just don't hang around waiting for her hoping something may come of it. The fact she had a girlfriend is irrelevant. Bi girls are hot. -
ANYONE WHO DOESN'T USE LINUX IS GAY AND EATS DICKS.

This is a seperate debate, and not one we will ever settle. Just rest assured that I'll be moving my Dad onto Linux when his computer is next being fettled. He is the ultimate test of something. If it can be misunderstood or broken, he will misunderstand and break it.
-
Easiest, yes. Best solution would be a full format and fresh install of some form of Linux though. I recommend Mint. Do it!
-
No it doesn't. It uninstalls any programs you have installed since then, and does a half arsed attempt at anything else. It's one of the worst features of Windows that I've ever had to use. I wouldn't trust it at all. In this situation I'd only consider a full format and reinstalling Windows from fresh.
-
Rear disc and a rear pro2? Worst weight distribution ever... Looking like a rather pimp build so far though!
-
I've heard of this scam before, my Dad and Grandparents have been called up by them. They may have had access to the computer via remote desktop. That alone would be enough to make me want to reinstall Windows after a full format. Does it have a windows sticker with the licence key on it?

It's the equivalent of going to Font and staying in a little cottage built in Benito Ros' honour for £10 per night. I don't care if being gay is a requirement, I'm tempted! -
I'd rather have the VT Ben, the ZZR is too pretty, I'd be worried about it getting knicked all the time. Always fancied an 1100. One day maybe... Just got an insurance quote of £104 TPFT with cover on other bikes. Job done! Can't think of a more complete bike for what I need. Looking forward to picking it up on Sat.

£38 mine is! Yay. Sam, get a bike! Cheaper, faster and more economical, just a small sacrifice in that it has no roof.

Id I can be arsed I will. I've been invited away on a climbing holiday though. -
It's on 43k, pretty evenly spread over the last 26 years. For many years it only did 1k. I'll be checking it all over properly though. I've rebuilt gearboxes before (well, helped) so I'm not too worried. It's a Honda though so there will be things that are needlessly complicated and difficult to setup without a production line...
