  1. To be honest you are better of buying a new bike, I you ar going to put all these bt on it... FFW does make a difference to the looks and some to the ride, the chain can be tighter because its closer to the chainstay etc, but I wouldn't do it, Keep the money, sell the T-VEE and but the T-PRO on here for £150, then all you need is a complete rebuild, a new bash plate (Or just ride uci), new brake lever, £15 on here, and your pretty much set. Or save lots of moeny and get a brand new echo team or similar! Ride it as it is, you will find that the geometry and the entire spec will hinder your riding far more than not having a ffw.
  2. Thanks for all the help Dan, looks like I am geting a Zona Zip, in silver, with my green maggies and onza hog wheels with green rim tape, I think I'm going to leave at that with the green bits, unless they are painted, Black bar/stem, green or black headset? Black echo 6061 cranks, no bash. Sweeeeetttt... So is to be a green or a black headset? It will probably end up with either Green or white try-all fluro wheels one day, either fluro green rims on black hubs or white rims on black/green hubs, what do you think?
  3. Anyone else have any other ideas as regards the colour? I am pretty much set on the silver, can somene upload a pic of one of each? Then I can decide more easily... Thanks for all the replies.
  4. These gloves are OK, they are really uncomfertable at first, the little piping bits scratch your fingers but they are good and warm once bedded in. To hot for summer though, My next pair will be some more Fox Digit 2004s, they are the most comfy gloves I have worn and cost £14, check out www.stif.co.uk and buy them, you will not regret it!
  5. Seriously, buy a complete, sorted bike that needs nothing. For £500 it should have a really decent spec. Don't rush either, Buy the best bike FOR YOU, not what other people are telling you to get, if you rush into getting a bike then you could have spent £500 on completely the wrong thing. Also have a proper ride on a MOD and a STOCK, then decide which to get. When you spot one, ask here for advice, if everyone thinks its worth it, go and see it and haggle for it. Check it all over for cracks, dents, any signs of damage, you don't want to find its knackered when you get it home. Good luck on finding your bike!
  6. But I like the silver laquered one, and the grey will chip, From looking at maglukes t-mag, laquered frames still look really nice even when scratched...
  7. I signed for, I live up north but anything to help you lot get a proper place to ride, as long as you upload looaaddsss of pics and videos when its done...
  8. Thanks for that, my mate (magluke) has the tea stem and echo tough bars on his t-mag, rides nice but too low for my liking, but he runs fall guy forks, which are the heaviest forks we have seen so far! if it had lighter/taller forks it would ride much nicer me thinks ! I won't be able to buy these until a couple of months after my frame, so for the mean time it is T-Pro bar/stem ***! EDIT: Next Problem, Grey or Silver? Grey will chip, silver will still scratch, grey is cheaper, any ideas?
  9. Okey Dokey then, I'm getting one! My biggest drop is ooohhh 4Foot? at the most... And I can't sidehop "properly" yet isn't it great when your T-PRO breaks after just 8 weeks when you have absolutely no money because you have just spent another £150 on it... piss. What bar/stem would you recomend to go with this extra long frame? Zoo bars? Echo Team/Hifi stem?
  10. I can't afford a deng frame atm, I need top spend as little as possible but get a frame that will last longer than my T-PRO. My Riding isn't up to much really so I can't justify spending £300 on a frame to then put all my shite T-PRO bits on. EDIT: Thaks for all the replies, looks like I am getting one! I can realistically only stretch to £200 for the frame so I think there isn't much else out there but if anyone has any other ideas?
  11. They are £80 each on Tarty Bikes: http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/category.php?id=53 Now that is a rip-off, Why not just buy the whole brake? Or a maggie lever and have done, its not going to be a huge advantage over a maggie anyway.
  12. Well Said! My point exactly, and I forgot about a metal TPA... We are comparing the prices of two similar rim brakes with the same spec, to compare them they need to have the same levers, pads, clamps, TPAs even oil, so that someone like Tarty Bikes can set them up side by side and say what the advantages and disadvantages are, I think that the Echo is going to be much stiffer at the lever because the cnc'd bits don't flex as much as cast bits.
  13. Thanks for that info, How long have you had your Zona for? I really want a longer frame this time, I am not bothered about it being a bit hefty, so does anyone have any other suggestions? I want to buy new and also I can't spend more than £250.

  15. Its all in the title really... I need to know if these frames snap easy, as I am planning to buy one as soon as the money arrives. I have just cracked a T-PRO, I imagine that these are a bit more hardy than a T-PRO though?
  16. If you are getting cranks, bb and freewheel then I would go for Echo cnc cranks, a tensile or eno freewheel and a long isis bb, ask the guys at tartybikes what will fit, I don't think the echo isis bb lets you use a ffw though... Ask tartybikes, If you have a limited budget, I am running Echo 6061 cranks, A tensile ffw and an Onza square taper bb, this is a good set-up for me but you can't fit it on with the supplied spacer, I had to grind the 3-4mm high shoulder on the end of the thread on the crank off to let it fit, sounds a bit strange, but fits well and looks much better with the ffw right up against the crank rather than wth a tacky spacer in.
  17. For that amount of money, you could just get a complete second-hand bike with all mint bits on it, in good condition. http://www.trials-forum.co.uk/forum/index....91220&st=40 This guy wants £450 for one with a really good spec, looks nice too... If I were you, I'd go and see him and have a bit of a ride on it, it'll tell whether you like the bike or not. You could then use the left over £50 to swop the stem for a stock one... Or just buy a MOD!
  18. Very Nice! Looks really good without red or blue cnc'd bits all over it! Whats the WB and BB rise on these? thinking of getting one...

    Two Ali C Vids

Top quality riding their Ali! Category: Video Games? LMAO!
  20. Ask deng! They actually havn't been re-designed for trials, they have simply copied and slightly altered maguras original design.

    Maggy Vs Discs

My mate has 07 hope mono trial 160s on his MOD, they are so good! Even when they get wet just drag the brakes until they get hot and it evapourates off! whereas maggies disolve their pads when they look at water. If you are looking for sudden bite, get bigger rotors, some people run 180s but ask adam from tartybikes, he has ridden double disk for a while so he will be able to say which discs are best in the loverly british weather!
  22. It is true that they are a bit pricy, but you can't compare it to a magura without adding these upgrades to the magura: 1 Maggie - £651 Echo Lever - £251 Set Of Echo Brake Mounts - £251 Set Of Echo Pads - £18This all comes to a grand total of £133. Not a huge difference, especially when you think that this brake is designed for trials and is fully CNC'd. I do think that they have made a huge mistake though, you are still going to have to upgrade it, it doesn't come with a booster of braided hosing which is a piss take really, this is supposed to be the ultimate trials rim brake, I would expect to be able to fit it straight from the box and before I use it I am going to have to re-bleed it! I would only buy this when building up a complete new bike, even then I would need to upgrade it though...
