Strip the paint with nitromoores (I think!) use something that will just take the paint off, don't sand it as it will scratch the metal and make it look shite. Then get some Autosol, from any DIY shops or similar metal polish, then really work it in and buff off with some cloths, comes up like glass, Either do the forks the same or have then black its the only way...
-
or just grind you rims instead...
-
And capitals... I think it comes in two legnths anyway, you just need to ride both a long and short bike next to each other to decide. I prefer long mods, but I like getting up stuff.
-
I agree, if you got some black echo cranks that would look soooo nice. I would change the grips as well, but thats only because I like thin grips.
-
I actually ride a T-PRO, but the frame snapped. So I thought I'd have a play. When I get my new MOD frame, the echo cranks and the tensile will go on that, but I may want to keep this running, so I am going to get an ACS to put on with my old musclemans, with the onza bashring. I may change the stem for something more "trialsy" problem is it has a screw-down headset, so I only have some old XC things, but its worth a try, it does feel a little short... Dads almost finished welding the T-PRO, so it might be coming to bits later this week
-
They are going to be changed, they look a bit out of place really... Its probably going to have to come apart again soon, my Dad is trying to weld my T-PRO for the third time... but this time he is putting a huge gusset all the way down the down tube.
-
Its only for messing about on until I get a new mod frame, mine has snapped, and i had all the bits for it so it has cost me nothing so far, its pretty fun to ride anyway, untilyou try to get up anything bigger than a curb...

Hi everyone, just thought that I would post up some pics of my 24" Trek 220, its about the wierdest spec you will ever hear of! I have done loads of mods to it, including snapping and rewelding the forks at one point, they are still strong... Any way here is the spec: FRAME: Trek Mountaintrack 220 24"FORK: Trek Mountaintrack 220 24"WHEELS: Emmelle 24" (Upgraded because I wore through the sidewalls in the original rims, which then blew off)FREEWHEEL: Tensile, until I get an ACS.SPROCKET: Onza 12t, the hub is screw on but designed for a screw-on block, so I had to put the spacer that came with my echo cranks in to get the chain line right.BB: Onza Square TaperCRANKS: Echo 6061, until I get an ACS to put on my old musclemans, then I can put the onza bash back on.CHAIN: Some old black thing in a box in the shedBARS: Renthal motorbike bars with 40mm chopped off either side! (They're huge!)STEM: TrekSEATPOST: Trek:SEAT: Some old XC thing with "flite" written on it.HEADSET: I have no Idea, It has the original cups and cones, but I mashed the earings so it doesn't have a cage anymore, just lots more bearings!BRAKES: The original Tektro arms with some fibrax pads that were in the shed and Shimano Altus levers.PEDALS: Mongoose BMX Pedals.I think thats it, let me know if I have forgotten anything, I'll edit the list. The gearing is abit high on 18:12 but its mint for more streety stuff, I would rather run 18:14, does anyone have a 14t sporcket that they want to sell for next to nothing? I am trying to spend as little as possible on it. Heres some pics:

Deffinately have a look on ebay, you can get nearly new t-pros for next to nothing.
-
Actually the wheelbase is the same aswell! they are the same frame and fork. he ony difference is the maggies I think, I think they also come with tensile freewheels on new onza cranks this year...l
-
oh my god! Me too! the only difference is I still have mine... I got mine 3weeks before my 11th birthday, so i got mine first! I am going to build it up again though, with renthal handlebars, ffw, the lot mate, although it is going to have vees on it. Since I got it I singlespeeded it, upgraded the wheels to emmelle ones (I wore through the rims on the trek ones!), put shimano altus cranks on it, wellago pedals, you name i've done it! they are THE best bikes for little kids to start on!
-
In that case, get a 24uk, you can get 24" viz rims now which should be more than strong enough for street stuff as wel and it has disc mounts, I think it has 4bolt mounts aswell but you can get adapters for them like the new t-pro has got, then get a booster. Or just run a disc on the back, it would be great for the sort of thing you want.
-
I strip the freewheel down, pawls and all, then clamp the bit of the freewheel left on the crank in the vice with some soft jaws in, then start hitting the crank with the hammer until it unscrews. Make sure you use soft jaws otherwise the freewheel body will get all mashed upand will be unusable.
-
That may be, but i am 10.5 stone and it has cracked, maybe mine was duff, who knows... Seems to be rather a lot of broken ones about though...
-
I agree that they are really nice bikes to ride and very light, but not strong, My frame cracked after I have had it for three moths tops, I also can only do tiny stuff, but I am 10.5 stone... Great for anyone lighter than 7.5-8 stone, the guy who had it before me did some big stuff and he was about that.
-
Try rebuilding it? I have nothing but good about the try-all, but I have a tensile and it is mint! Engages loads and is nice and loud! I would go for the try-all though next time, the try-all has sealed bearings, nine pawls and engages more often than any other freewheel, whereas the wensile doesn't have sealed bearings, they are wide open, has 6 pawls and is only £15 less.
-
Don't get either, look for a frame thats not dented at all and pay a bit more, then it will last you longer and will have the spec you want.
-
He wants a nice, new bike built up by real mechanics (As apposed to me in my garage, although the mag rides ice at the moment!). No ACS Claw though, I was rebuilding the one on his Mag last night... Does it cost much for you to build bikes up for us? I am thinking of doing it but with a not so expensive spec...
-
Unless you are over 6 foot you will love it, I find stocks too big and heavy, Mods are easier to do stuff on, but I am only 5"9...
-
My T-Pro was nice, then it cracked, little short as well so I am trying a Zona Zip as soon as i have the money...
-
Get try all rims on onza t-master hubs, they are really god according to the guys at tarty. PM me if you want to sell you T-Comp, ever.
-
I doubt that the new echo brake is going to be worse than the maggie in any way, they have been developing it since 2005, if it wasn't going to be much better, they would have scrapped it long ago.
-
These do look really nice, but the mounting could have been changed to something not requiring a booster. I won't be getting one though, dual disc all the way!
-
You can buy them from trialsman.co.uk.
