  1. but if you had a new tyre with tread it would mean u wouldn't get the pinch flats! because more rubber means the inner tube protected better and has more cushsioning or get a dual ply inner tube???
  2. yeah i see now, i managed to remove the head and bottom bracket with out to much hassle. i've stripped both the forks and frame and cleaned them up but i thinking about sanding the lot to smooth it out then laquer the frame and get some grey blue pastel colour not excatly. what you think and about the ride sunday sam, still waiting to send my rear wheel off to get it serviced by tarty. and gotta order new cranks so hopefully next week it'll be ready but i might come out anyways and have a go on my rock ropper lol cheers
  3. first is it adsived that i should remove the headset when about to use Nitromors? and the bottom bracket for that matter? the T-rex comes with that internal headset and was wondering how you remove it?? because u'd usally knock the cups out with an external one but the cups are the head tube? also do i have to remove stickers first? any help would be great harry
  4. YEAH REALLY GOOD had to mod it slightly because it kept slipping at the axel, i'm using Hope Qr's and apprently don't hold as much tension as some others. so i mark where it should sit and drilled a hole though and thread a bolt and nut on so that the bolt would rest against the frame and there for can't move up put a little tube around the bolt to stop it marking the frame. a couple of Pics by the way my back wheel broken thats why its not on my bike waiting to send it off.

    Brum Ride 07

yeah that was well good, nice music haven't time to get the new album yet thou
  6. nah i've called various places. all the bike shops in town and a couple of engineering places only found one place, precision engineers. but they didn't have the right tap or couldn't do the non drive side either. the closes tap he had was 9/16th's *18tpi and the pedals have an oversized thread of 9/16th's *20tpi!! tarty gave me the diameter and the pitch of the thread of the tensile inserts which are 18.75 Diameter 1.2pitch. i'm considing trying to fit these. hopefully the engineer will have the right tap for those. harry
  7. and btw now the removal threads on the cranks have gone on the drive side so i can't even take them off.
  8. from what i make of it, its tapping a slightly bigger hole in whatever and then inserting a springy thing in to restore the thread and bring the hole back to the normal size. probably wrong thou thread size of tensile inserts anyone??
  9. does any know the thread size for the tensile inserts for cranks ????
  10. had the same probelm, i got a 74 kings tensioner which works a treat after a little installing issue. its right out of the way and bends inside ur frame if it does get hit btw my QR's indeed hold it tight thou so i drilled a hole though the arm of the tensioner and threaded a bolt though which rests perfectly on the frame and provides a moist amount of tension and or learn to side hop non-drive side i find it easier now harry
  11. i had the same probelm a while ago, one of my pistons was all gummed up and so took more pressure to move it maybe take the pads off and have a look? harry
  12. M8 excatly the same thing happened to me a couple of days ago. f**king piss take. lol mainly the drive side has gone. i just noticed during riding the the pedal was off at a wierd angle. helicoil i reckon, might slove my problem cheap
  13. can i still ride it?? or would that be stupid because i'm assuming the axel was broken when i got it off LEWIS
  14. your right, so looks like your gonna have to sort it for us umm does Tarty service Chris kings?? because i'd like to get it sorted properly plus i don't have the fancy Chris King tool either, not sure what lubes used and/or any other damaged bits with in:S Would it be stupid to keep riding it? or will it damaged other bits? cheers harry
  15. well the 2 alley key bolts (5mm) ones are both spinning as i try to undo them but they not coming undone. so basical at the first step in ur vid if it was a snapped axel wouldn't i have noticed riding??? cheers harry
  16. yeah man i got 2 5mm alley keys in either end and given it a fair whack but now there turning freely and still not undoing Also i haven't taken the lock ring off the cassette do i need to?
  17. hey i got a couple of second hand King hubs about 1 month ago and they have been fine, apart from last week they skipped a couple of times just a tiny amount. so i had a look on the Chris King site, watched some Videos and tired to undo the 5mm bolts and then maybe adjust the cones if needed to see if this would put an end to the skip. i've got as far as taking the back wheel out of the bike and now tired to undo the alley keys and they won't come loose, the bolts keep twisted and theres not much fiction but their not coming undone just wondered if anyone had some ideas?? its a Rear king hub Btw
  18. i had onza sticky fingers for my T-rex to start with and they were horrible, too much knobble never used to wrap around enough, now got some Try all tyres and they beast, threads a bit worn but still wicked and much better
  19. well i'm about to take a good couple of weeks off sadly, due to not having enough money to bloodly fix my bike. it seems like an endless strungle to keep the thing going!! some how i managed to completly rip the thread out of my cranks (for the pedals)
  20. do you need the tee bone? tool to get the chris king apart. i have a King and over the last few days its skipped the smallest amount a few times. its not much but i'd rather fix it Asap before it gets worse. cheers harry
  21. i was having the same problem a couple of days ago my hand was cramping up and it felt like a couldn't hold the brake (Rear mainly)so i let the Tpa off a little. i was riding with the rear brake lever only moving 5mm to 1cm and i think its because my finger could never reach a comfortable postion to hold it at. and so yoiu pull harder and clamps ur whole hand up as well as ur braking finger. well saying this i pretty sure i've sorted it out but haven't been able to ride much because i completely bugger my cranks pedal thread cheers harry
  22. nah man i was wondering the same earlier. i've been putting alot of practise in and really pushing my self i Love it sounds like i can do about the same as you just started doing Zap Taps (ryan leech wording) and wheelie drops had like a good 6-7 hours of riding today, which i managed to suprise my self. lol bunny hopping up a 3 footish wall
  23. i hate watching horribly short clips, even if people are doing massive gaps/drops/whatever. its got to be orginal and creative thats why i got into trials nice flowing lines, kool camera angles and good music to suit. i'm sure you'll do a proper job Harry
  24. so shimano QR's are better?? any suggestions? for a Chris King Front and Back hubs Cheers Harry
