  1. Insurance on my MK is about £120. Well happy with that!
  2. Well a couple of weeks on and the new one seems have done the trick! Took it for a little spin with a mate on saturday, and it rained. Doh! The Mrs wasn't happy.... Also fitted a new plate to it the other day so it's no longer wonky! Hurrah. In other car news, I got a phone call from the Mrs the other when I was on my way home from football after work. The police had turned up at my house and scared her shitless. Long story short some drunken idiot had ripped the wipers off my car whilst it was parked at the station. Great. The good part to the story, is they caught him so he's paying for the replacements!
  3. The mk is running again! Yay. I think my neighbours may hate me now though
  4. I must admit, I was starting to think perhaps there was a reason it was stuck down. Once it's running again I'll see how this one gets on (luckily the car came with some spares, so not had to buy anything yet (other than fuel....). If it fails, I'll try some of that instant gasket stuff you suggested. Cheers!
  5. I'm shit at updating. Even shitter at remembering to take pictures. Here's a brief description of my weekend just gone: Last weekend I did an oil and filter change on the MK. Whilst I was there I thought I would replace the rocker cover gasket as it was weeping a bit. That turned out to be a bit annoying - previous owner had glued it in... much scraping needed. Eventually got it all off and new one seated flat. All seemed well, so drove home - happy days. Upon putting it back in my garage I noticed a blob of oil on my drive I then looked out onto the road to see blobs all the way down it! Doh! My seeping rocker cover was now leaking. God dammit. Left it for the day as had to go out...... Sunday came around so I replaced it again - much easier this time as I didn't glue it.... Put it all back together and fired it up - only firing on 3 cylinders Swapped 2 HT leads (I think that's what they're called?) over - sorted. Turned it off whilst I put the bonnet back on and opened the gate etc to take it out. Now it won't start. Great! Now I have to figure out what I disturbed.... Tune in next week to find out what else I can break! P.S Probably should have mentioned I don't know my way around a car at all mechanically, the most I've ever done is oil changes really so doing a gasket was actually a first for me!
  6. That would be exactly what I use! D3200 with a handful of lenses. It does me OK, but I don't spend a lot of time doing it unfortunately. I'd be tempted to suggest a 35mm rather than a 50 due to it not being a full frame. It works out near enough 50mm ☺️
  7. So when I said I need a nice day to enjoy it.... I couldn't resist - I went out in the rain! It's sooooo much fun. Had to be extremely careful, the back end kicked out a couple of times which gave me slight brown trousers. Couple of pictures of said car anyway: (my girlfriend has aptly named it, Brum) And when picking it up.....
  8. Just got home, and I can confirm it is loud. Ended up pushing it into my garage so as not to piss everyone off... 9. Will update you when I've picked it up (Presuming I haven't already killed myself that is) Picking it up tomorrow night - won't be getting home 'til around 1am. Neighbours are going to love me....
  10. I think a small car update is required: 2 weeks ago I sold my SLK350. Last weekend I bought a Giulietta JTDM 170. This weekend I am picking up an MK Indy. Good few weeks. I'm excited (not in that way Dann159540459)
  11. Looking at new cars at the moment (not new at all, 2nd hand). Currently my list of cars I'm considering is quite large, anyone got any views why I shouldn't consider any of the following? Audi A3 - 04-07 roughly either 2L TFSI or 3.2 Audi A4/A6 avant - same as above BMW 3/5 touring *25 or *30 petrol or diesel Alfa Giulietta 1.4t (170) or 2 JTDM (175) Alfa Brera 2.4JTDM (210) or 2.2 (182) Golf gti - around 05 age Thanks
  12. Or if the containers are set up correctly, just add a css style of img {max-width:100%}. This is assuming you've not used in line styles.... Edit: ping me a pm if you like, I'm going to be doing some work tonight anyway so can take a look
  13. Someone's stolen your lights.

    F1

Hamilton will be fuming. He would have totally wanted to beat him (again) next year to settle the score.
  15. Classical mainly, but have dabbled. How you finding it?
  16. Have played since I was 5 (shit, that's 23 years!). However I haven't played for a few years now. Might dig it out again over winter for a little play.
  17. Anybody know anyone that would like to buy an SLK350? Unlikely I know but no harm in asking
  18. I might be able to get involved in the next track day. Hoping to pick up something like a westfield this winter. About time I learnt how cars work, and what better way than buying a fun car to work on
  19. Already have prime so happy days
  20. I was stood on my drive when you drove past. I looked up 'cos I heard a loud car and was intrigued to know what it was

We paid via credit card - and from what they've told us we should be getting it all back - thankfully!
