  1. Freewheel; click click click. Fixed; I'll let you guess
  2. Ah I see I'm missing the point I know it doesn't really matter now, but how about cutting compound? The paste you use to blend in new paint work, that is very lightly abrasive, much less than 1200 grit.
  3. Go to Asda and buy the pack of 25 blank CDs for £1.98, they come with two totally clear CDs to protect the top and bottom CD when sitting on the shelf!
  4. 10mm spanner, wind out the nut on the lever (watch out, don't do it above your mums best carpet, it'll leak black fluid everywhere), and the hose will come away from the lever. The shroud nut is just a hollow bolt which the hose goes through, then the olive is just slipped on the end of the hose that pokes through the shroud nut. As it's already been fitted, the olive will be compressed, and it won't slip off easily; hence cutting it off with a sharp knife or such. Olive looks like this... http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/product.php?pr...p;category_id=5 The old shroud nut might give you a bit of hassle in getting it off easily, so you might as well get one of those... http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/product.php?pr...p;category_id=5
  5. You need a shroud nut, and an olive. All available from your fav bike trials retailer. To be honest, the shroud nut will re-usable from your current set up. You just need a new olive. Cut off the old end of hose (it'll look all mashed up on the end), slip on your shroud nut, then the olive, then tighten in the lever which will compress everything and keep it tight in there, then bleed the system If your'e lucky you local bike shop will probably have a magura olive, the same ones are used for both magura disks and hs332.
  6. Be 100% sure about not having a fluid leak. The most common place is for the hose to split around the barbed fitings on the crossover or where the main hose meets the slave cylinder. Have you recently bled it or had the hoses out? I remember a long time ago easily crossthreading a hose fitting and it leaked becuase of that.
  7. Have you ever seen a black trials rider?
  8. I like it, I think you've got a good idea. Whats the competition, has anybody made anything similar? I know luke runs a splitter to both brakes from one lever, but this way would give you a lot more control. I need to think of something to do for my final year engineering degree project!
  9. Ace. I like the fact that you'll be able to fit it without removing the grips too, why aren't all levers like that!
  10. You won't be able to fault a Shimano one. It'll last ages and they're plenty strong enough, and cheap!
  11. The caliper it self is the same as the front, it's just the black mount that moves it around to fit the back. It could be quite hard to source just that bracket.
  12. Looks like you've got it covered What's the piston movement like? Suited towards HS33s or disks where they have much less stroke?
  13. If you're really stuck, take apart the freewheel, grind flats on either sides of the internals, then clamp that in the vice. It's a bodge, but every question has an answer.
  14. I see, clever idea. I presume you can go both ways at once to apply front and rear brakes? Would be clever if you could incorporate a similar system as the Avid Juicy lever and flip the lever upside down and run the body on the other side. Would save producing a left and right hand model.
  15. That looks good, I like it. How come two axis though? One way for power, one way for modulation?
  16. Mate Portsmouth Tescos is epic! I get scared everytime I go in there.
  17. Anybody thinking of riding Portsmouth this Sat? I havn't been out on my bike for maybe 18 months, I think it's time I did.
  18. Just started on tv... Why are all the kids in this program black?
  19. Anything with a soft grippy sole to be honest. Are they for street or comps? Remember if you dab, you need something that'll grip on wet rocks and mud etc aswell as just pedal pins. I used to ride in skate shoes all the time, but I always found them a little rigid. Now tennis shoes seem to work well, green flash to be specific.
  20. Maxxis dual ply super tacky high roller Ritchey foam grips Surley singulator Middleburns and Ti bash Magura Avid Juicy 7 Zoo! risers Chris King hub Hope XC front hub KMC Kool chain Wait a minute, pretty much everything on my bike I spent a long time getting it just right I think.
  21. Lefty loosey, righty tighty. Spokes on the left hand side of the wheel will move the rim left, spokes on the right of the wheel will move the rim to the right. Try to get a similar tension on each spoke around the wheel. Is it a bad buckle? It's usually best to just start again sometimes. Loosen off every nipple and start again, keep them all as loose as possible while keeping the rim straight and central, then slowly tighten as you go round while fine tuning. It just takes time.
  22. Screw extractors will get the broken stud out; Then either drill the hole bigger and tap it for a bigger bolt, or get it Heli-Coiled. As it's been said, bashing things isn't really the style these days. You'll save weight without the guard anyway
  23. I love said Tesco pikey reduced section. I got a Spongebob Square Pants USB stick, phone sock and lanyard for £1.
  24. I was on the train on the Waterloo line this evening with my trials bike. I got chatting to the Guard and the Refreshment Man about the bike and the sport when they said to me "What sort of bike is it?". Meanwhile a lady came over to buy a coffe from Mr. Refreshments and she got on in the convo. The Guard and bloke with the grub trolley went on thier way and I was left talking to this lady for ages about the sport etc. Then she asked my name and age, to which I was like "Errrrm, in this day and age..." but she explained that she was a reporter for the BBC on her way home. She was really interested in what I was saying and couldn't belive that it was actually quite a growing popular sport. I was explaining the principles of competitions, BIU/UCI, talked her through the special parts on the bike like the brakes, drive, weight etc. It got a little techy when I started going on about engagement points haha and she looked a bit bored. She has a column in a newspaper (she did tell me what one but I was too busy looking at her tits) and that she might do a bit of research into trials and write a bit about it. Well that's my story of this evening.
