  1. Iv been running the new dob rims for about 5 weeks now. The front was going strong until I landed funny in Spain and totally killed it (pretty sure any rim would have died though) The back one is going strong, I done a number of large drops down to funny angles and its held up ok. It holds a grind quite well but one thing I have noticed is the amount of material that comes off when grinding, go steady with the grinder of you'll be through in no time. My brake is as good as its ever been, im running rockman blue's and the combo seems to be working really well. Ben.
  2. Matt we all know what bike you should be on and it's not a 26"
  3. Thats good news, looking forward to it now. See you there. Ben.,...
  4. Should be good fun. Robin are you still up for being my minder? Ben.
  5. Just getting better and better!
  6. I'll be there on Sat / Sun so I'll be up for it. Ben.
  7. How much bounce??? Anything like the rubber queen?
  8. I have been driving my Tractor for just over a week now and I’m finding it sooo much fun. I have ridden a 26" for years now so I was not sure how the smaller wheels would feel. But the bike rides really well. I can side hop / gap / pedal up just as far as I can on my 26". Obviously the smaller wheels make it a bit harder to tap but I’ve still done quite a few decent sized ones. The back wheel control is amazing by far the most control I’ve ever had on a bike. I can flick the bike around just like a 20" which makes it wicked for small techy lines. I would not say my front end is low. I am running a 145 x 20 stem with Rockman riser bars. If anything, I would like to slightly lower it by a few mm. The DRM moto digger tyre I have on the front is pretty good (far better than I thought it would be) I have cut a few bits off to open up the tread a bit. The swamp thing 2.5 on the back grips pretty well, very little fold too. Ben.
  9. Finally got round to building mine tonight. Can wait to have a bast on it over the weekend. I'll pop up some photos some time over the weekend. Mine is the grey version
  10. Pretty amazing to be honest. What rear tyre is he running? Rubber Queen?
  11. I have been told that 13 year old Jack Carthy won Elite! Does this mean he beat Danny B as I have seen some photos of him riding at Shipley yesterday????????
  12. I'd be willing to give some pointers one weekend. Could meet at a good netural venue or my indoor spot. Ben.
  13. Dont think the Limey 3's with the fixed top tube are out yet. The Limey 3 down tube is no stronger than the one on the Rockman. I have ridden both and bashed both so im in a fair position to compare the two. Ben.
  14. I planning to go to Koxx days and I have a couple of spare seats in the van if anyone would like to come. I would expect some money towards fuel and the ferry crossing. I have no confirmed travel arrangements at the moment but would most likely leave on the Wednesday evening and come back on the Tuesday some time. Send me a PM if you would like to come with or have any questions. Ben.
  15. Its far shorter than that. Im not 100% of the actual geo though.
  16. I rode an onza limey 3 frame for most of last year, It is a nice frame but its nothing compared to the Slate. I have been riding a Slate for 2 months now and its easily the best frame I’v ever rode. My riding has improved quite a bit since I made the change. You also have to consider the top tube problems on the Limey 3, if you want a frame thats going to ride well and last get the Slate.
  17. All the new Onza bikes are looking pretty sweet. Dont forget the Rockman 24" TGS frame that is coming out soon. (I have seen pics) Ben.
  18. Sam has been testing a new prototype deodorant, as you can see its not very good! The unit is still smelling today First ride and he was going bigger then he could on the Koxx.
  19. Get the Rockman Manus, you wont be disappointed. My friend cracked his Hydroxx after about 5 months. Ben.
  20. I have been riding my Rockman frame for 2 months now and it still feels and rides like new. Normally after a month frames start to loose their positive feeling but mine hasn't which is a first. I also have friends that have owned a Rockman frame for nearly 12 months now and they have had no problems at all. Tarty have sold allot of Rockman frames and this is the kind of advice you need to take notice of. Not from a guy that has recently started to slate Rockman products at every opportunity possible. I dont think thats the case at all. Im pretty sure a serious competition rider will put a bike / frame through its paces far more than a street basher would! If you have the money for a Rockman, buy it! You wont be disapointed. At the end of the day you get what you pay for, if you want a well made frame that has had time spent on it making sure it rides nice buy the Rockman. If you want a cheaper frame where very little thought has gone into how it will ride (balance points etc) buy the GU. Ben.
  21. Whats changed on the new poster?? Looks the same to me.
  22. These might help a little bit of info from news indoor photos Ben.
  23. Im having another open weekend this weekend coming if anyone fancies coming along. For those of you that dont know the trials park is located in the Midlands in a town called Bishops Castle. Hope to see a few new faces over the weekend. Ben Savage.
