  1. But isn't a Classic shell the same as a BMX shell? Jon Mack and i recently swapped hubshells, but then decided to just change driveshells, axles and lockrings because we couldn't really be bothered to get the internals out. I think it's possible, but you'd need a new axle and a new driveshell, making it into a 135mm classic.

That was brilliant! How happy must they be
  3. It's all about pre-'73 cars, anyway
  4. You coming, sir? If so, SHOTGUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. Yeah, i've had a few but none have really been loved - my series 3's chassis ended up in two pieces :$ With it' age i think it'll be a doddle, new chassis good, nothing to the wiring loom (headlights, indicators, few dials n' whatnot) then it's just a case of taking everything off and transferring it all over! Would get a new lick of paint in the process, i'm not a fan of the beige! As cool as that is, i think the soft top could put a bit of a downer on the last part, what with the rolling In related news: i found a rather unloved series 1 today, crazy old lady told me it's not for sale and to "get the f**k out of my garden"
  6. Dude, make your mind up so i know exactly what i'm gonna need to be doing with regard to what you want, what you dont want etc etc... Nick wants the wheels all black (almost all black atm, aside from the sidewalls), so my plan was a bit of primer, few top coats and laquer 'em up nicely, mask off hubs etc. Worked really well on my old BMX and jump steed, can of montana gold sorted it good n' proper!
  7. Bike's no where near ready, i'm out
  8. Exactly my point. His English is far better than your Swedish.
  9. He's just trying to help a fellow pre-member.
  10. Yeah, it's an 83/84 so just before the Stage ones, five bearing engine, big brakes etc... It's still on the cards, but for £100 more i could get this: Going to look at it on the 10th of April, 1961 Series 2, body's dead straight, ragtop, great gearbox, selection of engines, currently on a totally raped chassis but comes with a very good rolling chassis that just needs a little bit of work. I just need to find it a barn/ yard for a month or three... Chassis-up resto for my first 'proper' one? (as in, one that will be loved and road legal, not thrown together and hammered till it snaps) Discuss. EDIT: It does have a set of wheels somewhere
  11. That could be interesting... I'd imagine it'd be good for proper trials, nice and chuckable!
  12. I'm gonna try and get out for a bit.
  13. I'd say that's genuine, if a bit 'different'...
  14. What is the geo? Looks surprisingly good, bet that'll be fun to throw around... Sweet colour too, was gonna do my 609 like that
  15. Never seen it done? a few people did it years ago, i'll try n dig it out...
  16. Woah man that's oldschool bodgin'! Haven't seen that done for years!
  17. Have you not even looked at the brake mount!?
  18. You deserve a medal if you can put a maggie on that frame...
  19. Scuff yo' feet on the tyres, then.
  20. Good effort sir! To be honest though, dropping 8ft on a monty is never gonna end well...
  21. Meh, i'll still be out sunday. Just need a large can of matt black... Brakeless was brilliant on that bike, just scuff your foot on the tyre or get off and walk down the hill? Sort of, but i doubt you'll have to do anything to it.
  22. I LOVE steel frames though, just feel... right.
