  1. Alreet tobias! Id go for the harder pad and harsher grind mate, will work in the wet too then. Be a snappier feeling performance too.
  2. You use a grind/ tar to make your wheels lock instantly on a trials bike. You definately dont want your wheels to lock on an xc bike... the gripping power of most brakes is more than enough to slow you down.
  3. Im guessing by the fact you've only said light or medium, you're getting it ground by tarty? Medium (and even that wont be very harsh)
  4. Awesome ride today, really enjoyed it. Perfect weather too! does that mean spring has finally sprung?
  5. Some of the gears posted are ridiculously hard, how do you manage static moves with 24:18?? With a 20t front id go for a 17/18t at the rear mate
  6. Your rims look so much redder than mine in those pics, and frame looks loads darker! Looking lush mate.
  7. Quality thread! Cheers for the comments so far regarding my bike, i love you all. Just want to say thanks to my agent, my family for being there man... lol Will have a fish and see what pics ive got of it, and post it up at some point. Loving bigmans rear disc build
  8. Lol, gyser if you dont ride trials are you just on this forum to tell everyone what the role of pcso involves? And to answer the topic ive only ever been asked to move on once, which was in southampton about 4 years back. Pick your stuff up, apologise for riding there, and move. I dont see how if you do that anyone could get any grief... ?
  9. Exactly what i was thinking. You probably got fined due to failing 'the attitude test' rather than for actually riding on the pavement. Man. As with most situations in life, you get what you give.
  10. Few people have said the dent thing! Think its just the way the light catches the photo. Cheers for the comments guys
  11. Easiest way to learn is to either book a comp and do white route so you can see what goes on, attend a few comps as a spectator, or just get out into the woods and see how hard natural is! Simple things like riding up a steep bank etc, when you're near the end of a section and have arm pump its things like this that will finish you off.
  12. Lol at some of the comments regarding steroids.
  13. Is that not stephen mangan? (aka dan moody from alan partridge)
  14. Lol, bessell came out with a beaut on monday... Chav: 'Can i have a go on your bike?' Bessell: 'If i can have a go on your mum'
  15. Tryall stiky 2.0. Thin, light and very grippy.
  16. Lol at some of the comments. Was indeed a big wall, made me look tiny. Dave is normally uber smooth, not sure what happened on this drop but he's definately not 'trying to run before he can walk'! Although we did tell him not to do it before he went up there, ha ha! Loved the double tuck before you went off dude Get the wheels built up and get riding soon mate Dan
  17. Imo go to any trainer shop/ shoesmith/ blacksmith in the uk and you should have a selection of hundreds of pairs of laces in a rainbow of different colours. All just imo though.
  18. Say that you do biketrials comps, similar to motorbike trials, and you're just training at the moment. People tend to be a lot more understanding rather than thinking you're just vandalising street furniture.
  19. i think sundays you can park anywhere cant you? Friar st etc? How many cars you bringing as may be able to help...
  20. Looks nice mate, good to see a subtle looking ashton
  21. Nup, 170's with 16/14 gearing mate. Cheers mate. The rims have come out quite purple in the pics, more of a pinky red in the metal! Will have a bash at measuring it for you dude.
  22. Some updated pics... loving it now And coustsinks Comments welcome, Dan
  23. Erm, look on tarty for koxx forks, and a hope pro 2 rear hub. Im sure what you've got will be fine though. Just noticed the tyres, what are they? (if any)
  24. Agree with the fun thing... think it was a norwegian guy uploaded a vid a lil while back (the one with the bent tryall rim at the start), riding was natural and nothing big in it, but it just captured the spirit of a ride with your mates for me. Really into smooth techy vids at the mo too, stan shaw, wes belaey etc. Was chatting to ross the other day about what trials was like about 4/5 years ago too... vids were more of a 'oh my god, he just rode over a post box' than, 'he just did a 53.25" sidehop. Maybe thats where the fun element comes in.
