Ah, ok fella. Everyone wears either a normal cross-country type helmet, or a bowl type skate helmet. Should be able to get both for £25 upwards. Best bet is to go into a bike shop and try a few on, as mail order its hard to order one that fits correctly.

Would only work if a bike was stolen recovered. Chances of that on a £1000 trials bike are slim... but if its free and it gives you peace of mind then go for it.

Lol, yeah... was gonna write some kinda smart reply, but thought whats the point... being young is all about making mistakes and learning from them, otherwise we'd only do what we'd read in books or others had done. Im sure in a few months time he'll decide its not for him, or that he feels stuck in a rut... but until then, its all about learning.

Country parks are good people to ask... as they started building one in a country park near me... Less liability that way too as the area is covered for cycling etc. Probably more chance of getting natty etc, than there is urban. Also, more chance if you arrange to do the organisation yourselves, as councils wont be bothered with that kind of thing, too much hassle for them. Pro-riders onside is always a good thing to have. Do you have any areas earmarked that you think would be good for it to be placed? You guys have any idea how much a skate park/ trials park costs a council to build? Basically, if you approach the council and say, can i have a trials park, its easy for them to say no. If you have all of this planned for them, its easier for them to say yes... Put a link to this in the hampshire comps thread, and ask mowgli if he'd be able to put a link on the comps site too...
