Hey jed, we goin Sunday as got to visit the relatives at Wakefield late afternoon.

What about a splined rear hub and fixed sprocket. Would cure the issues i've had stripping the thread on hubs and also make swapping the sproket easier. Could be splined on both sides so can take a disc mount if req'd.

You mention brake mounting. I'd like a way of removing the wheel from a maggie setup without having to let the tyre down and also the pads go clear so they don't get covered in mud when the tyre goes past them. (and I don't want the poor quick release mechanism that magure have already when using V mounting posts)

Try All will not last as long as Monty.

Christmas Special Trial - Postponed
Robin M S/c replied to TykeTrial's topic in Member Organised Rides
Adams entry is in the post but not sure when you'll get it Barbara. We've not had post for a week due to snow. -
Fred and his brother Danny both rode biketrial back in the 80's. I remember riding against Danny in the 1985 european championship in Belgium. Sure he was sponsored by peugot bicycles who ran a big demo rig.

Grind is the way to go. Tar needs redoing regular, no good in the wet, too much and the pads stick. Its just not consistent. Yes eventually grinding will mean a new rim but Adams has done a full season of grinds and still going strong.

Is The Royal Mail Still Operating?

Wish we'd only had an inch or 2. We've got 24". Had no post since Tuesday but have seen a few post office vans out today (sunday) trying to deliver stuff. -
Hey Gary, would be good to see you at some events. Better get some practice in though as there are some fantastically talented kids to whoop you!

Was going to keep his 2010 bike for a practice bike but if the price is right I would consider selling it.

Gerard is good but don't forget that at the world champs this year he was soundly beaten by the British riders 9 year old Charlie Rolls and 8 year old Adam morewood and two Japanese lads. Looks like he's been practicing hard though!
-
He's 8. Not 9 until next year. Thinking of doing a summary video of the best of 2010 when I get time. 20" wheel is fine for him. 19" would be too heavy Bars are carbon. Nothing else. Cranks are 152 I think

Finally got Adams 2011 Monty 207 Kamel ready for next season with all the special bits on from Tartybikes. Weighs less than the 2010 bike without getting out the drill or grinder! Just dips under 7 kg. Big thanks to Martin at Malcolm Rathmell Sport and Adam at Tartybikes.

I like how he manages to change gear whilst balancing on the back wheel. Awesome! Can't see anyone getting near him in the indoor series this year.

You will always get responses that bikes snap, don't snap etc. All I can base my opinion is the one Ryan Trickett had. He used it for a good 18 months street and natural and competed on Expert (red) sections at National level. He didn't break it but recently swapped to a different frame as he didn't like double disc and wanted a rear maggie

Does Anyone Else Here Also Ride Motorcycle Trials?
Robin M S/c replied to trials27's topic in Beginners Trials Chat
I've ridden motorbike trials for 28 years mostly on a sidecar sponsored by Malcolm rathmell sherco. Also competed in bike trials since 1981 but now send time taking Adam to the biketrial events. You'll have to make one Gary-mac not seen you for ages! -
If your looking at the next size bike up from an 18" you need a short mod with 20" wheels front & rear. My son Adam is 8 and is on a Monty 207 which is ideal. A normal mod would be way too big & heavy for him. Other options would be an Echo kid or maybe the new Onza but I've not seen that yet.

Drains really well. Loads of good places to ride even if soaking. -
Where To Ride Trials In Sheffield City Centre?
Robin M S/c replied to chris170483's topic in Beginners Trials Chat
The path that goes from woodseats opposite KFC, passed the kids play area all the way up to near the golf. There are logs at the side of the path and if not much water in the stream there are some good steps in and out of it and near the top there is a small steep stream with some good steps. -

There's a few good bits near you in Graves park. The valley down the edge nearest morrisons is best. We sometimes go there if we only have a small amount of time. Or Millhouses park skate park or the new stream / rocks they have put in. -
Yes, he's just sussed five pallets. Pads are orange monty on the back and some prototypes I got from Ben savage in the front. He does read the comments sometimes!
