  1. Cool. And he rides the motorbike even better!
  2. Bit of practice away from the snow. Can't fit much in the garage but it's better than nothing.
  3. It was OK as the snow was very powderery and not icy. Just kept brushing the snow off the lines. It's horendous when it is icy though
  4. Few pictures of Adam at a very snowy Matlock Quarry.
  5. He already does but try and keep my hand in
  6. I'm 40. 41 in jan. Rode mod since the age of 12. Ride a bit of stock now. Trying to keep up with my 7 year old son
  7. Cheers James. All bolts except the crank ones are aluminium. Thinking about double butted spokes, not sure about titanium ones, think that's a little excessive for him. Agree with holes in rimes, will give that a go. Forks now weigh 690 so they aren't too bad. Most light forks are disc bit didn't want to go that way as disc set up weighs more than mags. Yeah, looking at changing front tyre. It's a steel bead & they do a kevlar one which will save 100g. That will put it at 7kg on the nail. Not sure about changing his Monty eagle claw for a try-all sticky as most people say the Monty is better & I don't want to compromise grip. Would save another 40g though.
  8. Cheers Ryan. It's got a neon carbon BB already but may have to look at the pedals. He's not up to UCI std yet so he does give them a bash regularly so they would need to be strong. I've done the underside of the maguras where they crack. Cranks should be fine. He's only 7 years old so isn't heavy enough to cause damage. Will have to keep an eye on them though as he starts to do bigger things!
  9. I've just finished building Adams new Monty 207 for 2010. Includes lots of drilled holes Echo Sl Headset Neon bashplate Carbon Fibre bars Wellgo Magnesium pedals It's approx 7.1 kg compared to his standard practice bike of 8.5kg. Just need a few sensible ideas to get it below the 7kg mark.
  10. Sounds good. May be worth a weekend trip.
  11. Anybody going to matlock Quarry this weekend. We may go if weather OK.
  12. End of May would be good as the BIU European Championships is on the 23rd in Andorra so could do Buthiers on the way home!
  13. We were there yesterday. It was very wet & cold but had a good time.
  14. We are off to Shipley Glen this sunday if anyone else is up for it. Donna Fox is going too.
  15. Afraid I can go back to 1982 when I competed in the british championship. That was when the bike trial scence first started with official comps. Back in those days it was 20" bikes only and there was only classes up to 16 years old. At that time it was these people winning A Class 15-16 years old - Steven Rees, Scott Dommett, Matthew Robinson & Russell Carter B Class 12-14 years old - Paul Edmondson, myself C Class 10-12 years old - Simon Tyas D Class 7-9 years old - Jason Lawer.
  16. Good riding James. About time you got yourself up north for some natty practice.
  17. Nice bike Pat. Also looks a great place to ride. Where is it?
  18. Yes, but don't think her boyfriend would be happy if it got passed round!
  19. Just put some clips together of Adam showing the progress he's made this year from Jan through to practising at Matlock quarry last week. Afraid it locks up a couple of times!
  20. Bou on the 1st section is amazing. After going to every indoor at Sheffield he never ceases to amaze me. Don't think anyone else in the world is capable of doing the backs hops like he does at 2.30ish. Raga has had an op on his knee so will be out for a while.
