It's not much better when you think that it stands for 'Hot Engineering Novelties' either... Ah well.

Only if you change the lever leverage surely? If you use a standard lever, it will pull right to the bars before the pads even touch the rim... When they do contact you'll have better braking force (i.e. pressure behind the pistons) but if that's not usable then it's pointless. Maybe I'm missing something though.

19mm piston vs. 14mm on standard maggy? Lever pivot will have to be modified also to allow the ratios to work... is there a matching lever H.e.n. (jpeg seems to say that it will be used with a Magura/Echo/RB lever)? I'm sure Tarty will correct me if that's wrong Says it's made from tool steel... kind of overkill isn't it? Immediately making it heavier than a comparative Ma/Den gura. Also (sorry for the negativity, just trying to understand everything) I can't see any way of bleeding the brake. Are there other bolts on the bottom of the calipers to allow bleeding?

It's a mod frame though so no need to worry Ads!

How come no sexy HF tubing on the Limey 20"? Basically I'd like a Limey 1.six but shrunk in the wash Could well've been tempted by one if that was the case... Also on the Ice, that Chainstay/BB interface looks like a major weak point. From the pictures it looks like you've reduceed the join/weld area to the absolute minimum possible which seems like a bad idea to me surely?

Depends mainly on budget. How much you thinking of parting with?

Am I right in saying that the hub you're on about has standard 'fun bolts' like 99.9% of trials hubs?... They do the job perfectly well on all my bikes over the last 5+ years!
-
Hehe, that sounds like a challenge... All good points and yeah, I myself do ignore this thread until it gets interesting as is the case now!

Can't wait to see it painted guys, going to be an awesome wee min'! Really makes me miss my minivan... I loved that thing

But that's as much a choice thing as anything. At any group ride there are always a good few 'average' riders and people still learning who will tend to sit around on their bike watching the other riders do their thing. That means that there's usually a group of people that everyone tends to stay near rather than going off to investigate. I agree the majority of riders on rides will queue up to do the same move on the same wall as everyone else, but that's when you get to choose to go round the corner and find something a little different or have a look for a different line to spice things up a bit. Maybe it helps if you tend to ride on your own most of the time like me, so that when you do attend a group ride you're not so likely to just follow the crowd, so to speak. Anyway, tucks are a means to an end. I myself can't tuck worth a damn but can still happily sidehop 45 odd inches on a stiffly geared 24" and probably a bit more on my Monty. While that's the case I don't really see the need to learn tucks and if I did, I wouldn't be posting up pics purely of the body position I achieved... that's just plain wierd.

Smells mightily like BS to me... You could quite easily argue that all metals incorporate a "single intrinsic structure"... it's called a metallic lattice of either BCC, FCC or HCP structure if my part I materials memory serves me right. Good to see they only give the UTS value for it too.

How dare you, how very dare you. Just you get out of here, bastardising the Queen's English like that!! Back I say before we set the Royal corgi's on you!! Might be of some help on the tyre issue.

Hydroxx 20" long states material as 6061... and the knowledge base known only as TartyBikes states it as Aluminium 6066 T6/6061 T6 for the 26" so... does that answer the question? Does it really matter? Is the earth really an oblate spheroid? Is space infinite? Have I annoyed everyone yet?

Will see what I can do... Haven't spent much time with my GF for a while though and she's now on Easter holidays so might have to sweet talk her...
-
Seeing as you're on 24", either get down to some rocks and have a stab at something totally different or go and watch every bit of film of Danny Mac you can find... always does it for me!!
-
Heheh, well said that man!
-
Would I?...
-
Aye, nowt special, pretty comfortable getting up it without thinking about tucking like a madman

Fackinell... seriously awesome mate . 180 between the benches

Ah, trago mills... the choice of champions For anyone who's interested, from the 24th Lidl will be selling non slip tape: Link 99p for 3m which could*be applied to any rails in your town to make for all weather riding * The vandalism (or modification in any way) of public property is not condoned by trials-forum.
-
Yeah, but I guess with 26" length and 100mm travel they'd start to screw up the geometry... plus the extra kilo you'd be lifting all the time.
-
Ah fair do's.

Those 24" specific forks are only available with a 20mm bolt through axle unfortunately... I've already looked into them However I expect you can get conversion kits but the front hub will still end up a bit chunky I'd have thought. Does anyone have any info on the 24" forks that Ashton was running on his bike last Summer? They were Rock Shox but I can't find any info on them... or are they just standard 26" forks? Edit:

Hehe, sorry Steve I meant that all to be more constructive criticism but it just seems to be all negative... The overall look of the bike is cool and I like the thought that's gone into the brake setup but as they say 'The Devil's in the detail' and at the end of the day all of my points are effectively aesthetic with the possible exception of the gussets but maybe I'm just making that up! Look forward to seeing some pimped out full builds on here soon Dave

Going to have to go against the grain here... I'm just not keen on the frame... Obviously I'm completely biased towards my Inspired which I love more than any bike I've ever owned... but I don't like the dropouts (too simple/large/ugly in my opinion), the CNC BB yoke (where it joins the chainstays it doesn't look like it's quite right, like the two weren't designed to join like that. Plus the trianglular lightening hole which looks like it should be rectangular with filleted corners/oval to remove more material), the booster/nameplate type thing on the seatstays (again too simple/large/ugly almost like an afterthought), even the gussets aren't to my liking (my understanding is that gussets should be open ended rather than welded all the way round...). Ah well, can't please all the people all of the time and I've no doubt that it'll be a winner and with geometry like that it will lend itself to anything from street/trials to park, dirt jumping and duel. Sorry, I'm obviously in a scarily picky mood!! All the best, Steve.
