  1. I work in news graphics and an innaccurate detail like that usually warrants a particularly nasty letter or email telling me what a disservice to the public I am doing. On a lucky day I actually get a phone call about it. Back to the Mac ....
  2. Good start there, Rebizap. Another yank, here. Also check out these guys. I've gotten nice service and some really good sale prices on various things. Tarty is also TOP NOTCH in my book. Very helpful and superfast service and delivery. -Gary Unique trials http://uniquetrials.com/V3/index.html Hugo at HB trials in Canada. Puts some good stuff on sale sometimes. http://www.hbtrials.com/ and trialsin http://www.trialsin.com/catalog/index.php
  3. That's a pretty nice spread there, but the inventor bit is a tad funny. Anyway, cheers to him!
  4. I am in no way a religious person, but my sentiments exactly. I fault no one for their faith, but it seems to blindly limit thought in quite a few. It's certainly not a new by product of religion and the (sometimes poor) interpretations of their teachings, respectively. In other news, The earth is only 6,000 years old. BWA HAAA HAAAAAA HAAAAAAAA
  5. You're on the right track. Keep practicing using the pen tool and it will 'click' once you get it figured out. Took me a while to really like the pen tool in either application, but now find them indispensable. Maybe hunt down a few pen tool tutorial videos? Illustrator was made for things like this though. Any progress?
  6. So, did you kick his ass yet, or what? I've lost track of the whole ordeal.
  7. I didn't have a say in the matter. I'm guessing my folks blindly followed their silly church protocol - or maybe it was the 'in' thing to do to unsuspecting infants. Either way...
  8. Any report on this yet? Where's our report? Did anyone suggest he report back* after all this nonsense is over with? *Assuming he can still type with two broken arms
  9. dammit all, missed the boat.
  10. I start out a yearner and usually end up with the covers twisted and a wreck, pillows all over the place and sprawled out in every direction by morning time. The aliens make me do that.
  11. Absolutely. The first set of rims I built for my stock are still going strong and true. Not hard at all. Although my first rim took me more than an hour to complete, but I am including time on the truing stand. Second wheel was a snap. Ben's post (and the wiki article) about turning each spoke the same amount until they start to tighten up works great too. Makes truing a breeze.
  12. Glad I could help with the front design! Also nice to see it's being well received so far. Living in the U.S., don't see how shipping would make it plausible - not a problem. Hope the memorial ride is great and condolences to you and the trials community. My thoughts will be with you. -Gary a.k.a. Tappets
  13. Ben Cox, you're required to pay 1 fun point to TF. We'd rather imagine some idiot hoovering a sidewalk for no good reason.
  14. maybe 33.33333% ? You left out hermaphrodites.
  15. There was this old lady that lived next door to me that used to vacuum her outdoor patio once a week or so - which made us wonder if she would rake the leaves up out of her living room. I bet the pub guy was a funny sight!
  16. Hehe, hope there isn't a topic like this already, but was playing around on the rocks near my house in a fairly secluded area of my county. Lovely area, really. Waterfall, streams and great practice area. Anyway, as I'm heading back to the car through the wooded area, I see this fella and two really fit looking girls (20s or so - hardly wearing a stitch of clothes) and a bag with a very nice video camera. Possibly a blanket in the bag too. Well, brain figures out what 2 +2 is pretty quickly. Must have totally interrupted some kinda home movie they were getting ready to make. Hmmmmmmmmm Well, me being a bit of jackass, I make some small conversation and putz around on the bike nearby while he wandered around waiting for me to get the hell outta there. Thought it was pretty fookin funny. I wish'd I'da happened upon it while it was in full production though. "Hey buddy? need someone to hold that camera for you?" So, what are some strange things you've come across while out riding trials, road, XC or whatever?
  17. I marked my ride location. LOL It's the green bike. I'm a rule breaker. I can change it to a blue dot if you want me too. How do I add the little thumbnail into the description on google maps? Thanks
  18. I agree with the 661 Veggies. And they do get stinky, but you can wash them. Only issue I've had with them is I took a solid hit and it cracked some of the small plastic strips inside. The strips migrated a bit and became a bit annoying. Just had to pull some of the little left over bits out and they're still good to go.
  19. I loved my Mac. Those days are gone for me only because I have an unlimited used PC parts connection these days. Anyhoo, here's something I dug up from a web comic a mate and I started - and never really pursued due to time issues. Kinda old, and the text would ultimately be switched out with a home made font that I haven't plugged in there yet.
  20. Not that I have found. I could be mistaken though. Also checked the output switches nested inside the print/page setup menus. You could make some easily in Illustrator if you have that handy and import them into Photoshop. Probably more work that it's worth though.
  21. Kind of a silly topic, but thought it could be fun. Seems it may be time for some new shoes to ride in. Any other contenders?
  22. I'd say get one of these. My roommate got one when people on our area multi-use trail would be walking/jogging etc. 4 people wide with ipoddy earbuds jammed into their ears. Bells have no effect. Loud as F***! 115db or so. Scares the crap out of any unsuspecting victim. Weighs nothing. Next time your friend's friend of an uncle's nephew's friend gets yanked, he can sound this off a bit to make a point (and probably get another ticket for a noise ordinance violation). Okay, It would look pretty stupid on a tirlas bike, but it's a really fun little gadget. Sounds even louder at 2 a.m. for some reason.
  23. Nice pages Webber! Glad you're helping out myspace people. Most of the pages on there look like a clown puked all over them. Love the undead omgnoseat! Good work on the trials pic too. I'd like to see some textures added to everything to make it really pop. Just my two bits there. As far as the town pic, I used Photoshop mostly. Just scanned some sketches in and worked over them. Thanks for sharing!
  24. Boy, I could sure use a drink or ten after that quiz. Actually, it stated that I'm borderline, which I already figured. Go me! Always room for improvement
