Some very boring pics... A clean with alcohol 2/3 coats of primer, wet and dried (ooh so loverly and smooth) 3/4 coats dark blue pearl, wet and dried inbetween each. Camera seems to have an amazing ability to pick up perfections because they look pristine in reality Going to wait 24hrs now, sand them down again and give them some laquer which should hopefully bring out the pearliness. Then back onto the frame Kinda wishing I didn't start this now, its getting expensive too! hopefully it'll be worth it :/ I don't really like racing bikes anyway ha. EDIT: ah shit.. looks like I may have painted the floor a bit...

Hehe, I have no idea. Its really not very exciting.. its basically a bike related tool thats normally fairly expensive, but its also a complex solution (hence the expense) - only bike shops normally have them. The version I want to make is a lot simpler & smaller, probably not quite as good, but would do the job & would be cheap.. I think. I need to make up a few prototypes, it might not even work

4mm was a guess Do you know how much you'd normally charge anyway Jon? I need to do some drawings (and learn autocad by the looks of it)/thinking. The cuts aren't too complex...

Does anyone have a rough idea on how much laser cutting steel costs? Say for a sheet of 4ft x 4ft ish, 4mm thick steel?

I saw one (in pieces - looked like they planned to respray it but never got round to it) for £75 buy it now.. not a great spec, but decent brakes and wheels. If I didn't have 3 bikes already I'd have got it.

Ha. I do like my hammer and WD40 - it helped in the removal of the bottom bracket with crank arm attached. Its also going to be used in removing the headset, in conjunction with a very long flat head screwdriver

Are they racing bikes, or road bikes? I have no idea. Anyway, I got it off ebay for £20. I have no idea what it is (the auction said 'brookes racing bike', but I don't think brooks (no 'e') make bikes - only saddles?). Currently stripping it down, which is a complete f**ker.. its got some white primer on it which nitromors doesn't touch. It looks like someones tried to strip it before.. so theres patches of this white primer that I'm wet and drying off of it... must have spent a total of around 10hrs on it so far. New things for it: <ul><li>cranks (the extracting thread is ruined on the drive side crank, so not putting that back on)</li><li>new inner/outer cables (white)</li><li>new saddle</li><li>headset (the old one is rusty and beyond de-rusting)</li><li>tyres</li><li>downtube shifters - chrome ones instead of black plastic</li><li>paint - very dark pearl blue methinks.</li></ul>Everything else I'm keeping as it was. How about this Budget DH bike. If it see's me through a few trips to cwmcarn i'll be happy Just need a rear disc + new saddle (it has lights on it as I left my normal getting to work bike in work one night..) Its a san marco rolls... bit battered, scuffed. Is that the one? The metal bit at the back is gold.. edit: just checked out the bars, cinelli criteriums, going for £20+ on ebay but I'm not selling it, going to bring it back to its former glory
