  1. No! I'm an unemployed bum at the mo mate!! Its gonna be hard going back to work I'm just thinking of ways to make loads of money quickly so I dont have to work, but as yet the lottery isnt paying off!! lol
  2. Speaking to Dave when those forks were made, to put a production run of about 100 pairs of forks would still have the retail price of about £1000 each. There was a hell of a lot of R&D that went into those forks as well. Liking the bikes Dan an Ash. Makes me tempted to dust of my old gear an have a mess around again!!! Who knows, after all this time I might still be able to wheelie!!! Dave is that Dual your new steed?
  3. ha ha , yep very hot! I remember Ash gettin an Ice-pop after each round, cheeky little get!!!
  4. Man that day was hot! I was observing one of the sections, so glad I had that EZ-up (cheers for that Dave ) My advice to anyone who hasnt riden a YMSA comp before, you have 2 options: 1, Turn up an watch, see what you think (take your bike though to have a mess about after etc etc) 2, Have a go!! You have nothing to lose and will gain valuable experience. If you enter blue an struggle then just drop down an enjoy yourself, no-one will judge you for doing that if its your first time.
  5. Mate, soon as I can get it sorted I'l be up there! Just need to drag myself away from this glorious southern sunshine an pack my thermals an passport ready to enter Stoke!!!

    My Astravan

Ok now hold on! Just reading the first few lines of that an i know that is one mental (an professionally done) car! Triple 8 are the company who prepare the Vauxhall Astras for the BTCC. They know exactly what they are doing. An I bet that car is mega money as well. If you wanted that done to your Astra-van then expect your pockets to be lightened by several grand (probly 15-20k)

    Christmas

Just found this and thought everyone should read it (sorry if you have seen it before) Maybe there's some more white envelopes out there. Something to think about as Christmas approaches. SIMPLE WHITE ENVELOPE It's just a small white envelope stuck among the branches of our Christmas tree. No name, no identification, no inscription. It has peeked through the branches of our tree for the past 10 years or so. It all began because my husband Mike hated Christmas --oh, not the true meaning of Christmas, but the commercial aspects of it --the overspending, the frantic running around at the last minute to get a tie for Uncle Harry and the dusting powder for Grandma -- the gifts given in desperation because you couldn't think of anything else. Knowing he felt this way, I decided one year to bypass the usual shirts, sweaters, ties, and so forth. I reached for something special just for Mike. The inspiration came in an unusual way. Our son Kevin, who was 12 that year, was wrestling at the junior level at the school he attended. Shortly before Christmas, there was a non-league match against a team sponsored by an inner-city church. These youngsters, dressed in sneakers so ragged that shoestrings seemed to be the only thing holding them together, presented a sharp contrast to our boys in their spiffy blue and gold uniforms and sparkling new wrestling shoes. As the match began, I was alarmed to see that the other team was wrestling without headgear, a kind of light helmet designed to protect a wrestler's ears. It was a luxury the ragtag team obviously could not afford. Well, we ended up walloping them. We took every weight class. And as each of their boys got up from the mat, he swaggered around in his tatters with false bravado, a kind of street pride that couldn't acknowledge defeat. Mike, seated beside me, shook his head sadly, "I wish just one of them could have won," he said. "They have a lot of potential, but losing like this could take the heart right out of them." Mike loved kids --all kids -- and he knew them, having coached little league football, baseball, and lacrosse. That's when the idea for his present came. That afternoon, I went to a local sporting goods store and bought an assortment of wrestling headgear and shoes and sent them anonymously to the inner-city church. On Christmas Eve, I placed the envelope on the tree, the note inside telling Mike what I had done and that this was his gift from me. His smile was the brightest thing about Christmas that year and in succeeding years. For each Christmas, I followed the tradition -- one year sending a group of mentally handicapped youngsters to a hockey game, another year a check to a pair of elderly brothers whose home had burned to the ground the week before Christmas, and on and on. The envelope became the highlight of our Christmas. It was always the last thing opened on Christmas morning, and our children, ignoring their new toys, would stand with wide-eyed anticipation as their dad lifted the envelope from the tree to reveal its contents. As the children grew, the toys gave way to more practical presents, but the envelope never lost its allure. The story doesn't end there. You see, we lost Mike last year due to cancer. When Christmas rolled around, I was still so wrapped in grief that I barely got the tree up. But Christmas Eve found me placing an envelope on the tree, and in the morning it was joined by three more. Each of our children, unbeknownst to the others, had placed an envelope on the tree for their dad. The tradition has grown and someday will expand even further with our grandchildren standing around the tree with wide-eyed anticipation watching as their fathers take down the envelope. Mike's spirit, like the Christmas spirit, will always be with us. May we all remember Christ, who is the reason for the season, and the true Christmas spirit this year and always.
  16. Those pics bring back some memories! I remember being at the Worlds when Dani Comas turned up with the first ever dual disc Megamo. It was the only red 20" Megamo there!! Tibo on his diamond back at bike that year, he was beasting everything to front wheel! Nelson Reis was mental, going for silly ups an gaps. Pretty sure he got deported from the USA soon after then!! So many more memories. And yeah old skool is not the first Echo or Zoo, its back in the day. Way back, when only DH'ers used discs. Before Magura came out with the Gustav-M. Back when you could ride a modified XC bike for trials.
  17. I hate to piss on your chips, but Terra-Moto are made by Thumpstar. Terra-Moto are Thumpstar's new range of 125cc 4stroke pitbikes.
  18. That I could believe, as MBK do make scooters.
  19. Since when was MBK a sub-brand of Koxx? MBK has been around years longer than Koxx has!
  20. Going back in the day, X-Lite made a DH frame which had dual disc on the front ( we are talking 96/97 here) And I remember seeing in MBUK an advert for a company who made dual disc forks an all the bits to go with it, pipe splitter etc etc. It never caught on in DH so it wont in trials, there is no need for dual disc up front for trials.
  21. Umm, how the f**k can you say that? Saracen are trying to put out a bike that can be used by a first time rider. If I was new to trials I would go for something like that to start on. Plus having some gears on it would mean that I could ride to my mates house without having to worry. I for one applaud Saracen for what they have done for trials. They and Onza have mass produced good starter bikes for a range of people. Why cant someone buy that bike and as they get better upgrade parts? There is no reason. Ok I admit some parts could've been better thought out. But saracen are a bike company, they dont specialise in one area, they do everything from road to dh.
  22. Maybe he only wanted to tell us about it? He might be shy an want to keep the pics for himself!
  23. Tar = noisey as hell in the dry, you can put too much on an the brake pad will stick, washes off in wet/muddy conditions. Brake spray = pretty good, doesnt last very long, squeaks Hair spray = dont even go there Spray mount = (i have tried it) grabs like hell, but again pads can stick on!!!!! Rim Grind = Noisey (varys depending on pads an severity of grind), works in all conditions, doesnt wear that quick. Grind *** Get a decent grind on your rim an some good pads, the softer the compound the shorter the pad life, and you will be good for anything.
