  1. Um i reckon a onza t rex will be a good bet if ur a bit of a frame killer! From what i have been told they are massively strong and i have never heard of anyone snapping a t rex.
  2. It is to be quite honest! A bike that has been designed and tested by one of the most respected and influential trials riders in the uk and the company dont seen to be pushing for its release! You wouldnt imagine koxx to do that with a frame designed and tested by giacomo coustellier would u? I know its a bit of a gamble for diamondback branching into an area of biking usually off limits for the mainstream manufacturers but come on the response has been more than enough for this bike/frame
  3. Probably was Martyn! I really want one now! Looks good other than the colour! Im seriously tempted to buy one!
  4. Hey cetfly have u had any luck with that frame yet buddy?
  5. I had to look twice at the pic and the price i was like no way! But then saw the spec below! I think that the basic spec will be fine for someone new to trials but fancys 24" after seeing a danny mac video or something. But i think the frame will sell better to riders who dont want an inspired. Is there still no word on geo yet?
  6. Yeah the man is right! The specs of the full bike is gash! Very cheap and probably not cheerful! Lol but to be honest when the frame is Gunna be around £229 they wont be to expensive to build up yourself i suppose
  7. Yeah ive been chattin with the guys in NMC and it sounds like alot of people are really interested in the ashton, myself included! But it seems to be a bit of a mystery at the moment!
  8. I know one or two people who would like one too! I even know a bmx rider who has never ridden a trials bike but wants an ashton effect! I would expect diamondback to mess the general public around but with Martyn ashton steering the ship (so to speak) i wouldnt of thought this would happen, i have been lookin at their website there prices were about £470 for the full bike and £229 for the frame. But they said this could change, still no geo or release date
  9. Yeah i watched revolution this morning. Its a good video all right. It looks so old now man! Quite funny what some of the guys are wearing! Its a shame Jeff Lenosky doesnt ride trials anymore, has got such huge hop up even by todays standards! I miss the old days so much! Lol
  10. I think you have created one of the most awesome bikes ever! i love it man. i always liked the old zebbers, would still love to own one! please tell me how you fix the shifter where it is, how do you mount it?
  11. not yet bud. I have downloaded it to real player so ill give a watch tomorrow morning when the missus goes to work lol
  12. Was a hilarious vid at the time, still makes me chuckle now! The martins masterclass bits with the dummys is genius! That vid, evolve and chainspotting made me fall for trials riding and ignited a real love for trials shame its taken me 8 years to commit to riding trials lol! 13. That is one thing thats top of the agenda maintenance! As once its built i want to keep it going so i dont have keep replacing kit cuz its worn out prematurely. That is why i am staying away from maguras. V brakes are less hassle.
  14. Yeah the xtr's are parallel push as are the xt's i had one on my monty urban. My brother in law has shimano slx discs on 203mm disc on his giant xc bike i had a little ride on that and the brakes were fantastic! Good power and lever feel they felt really progressive too. I would like a avid ultimate set up for the back but they are more than the xtr. Whats ur experiences with em? Also yeah i dont really want a noisy brake either well not too noisy!
  15. that would look sick, go from really dark green through to a light green into white.
  16. What are the different heatsink compounds like? I was thinkin bout the coust compound but i think it might be too grippy for street maybe the snowy pads would be better!
  17. Yo Luke what pads u runnin on your avid ultimates? I have my brake set up sussed now xtr rear v-brake, slx disc up front! Ha at last success! Lol
  18. Hello and welcome to the forum. For someone your size stock would be the best route i mean im 5' 8" and i feel cramped on my friends long wheelbase koxx levelboss mod imagine what u would feel! Anyway hope u get some good advice and get out there and be riding soon.
  19. For the love of god dont buy hookworms! There fine when its warm and dry but crap when it gets moist, there still pretty heavy and an absolute c**t to get on and off ur rims, get hollyrollers there a way way better tyre
  20. Its not obsolete at all i run a 22 up front, as does Danny mac! The man said hes buildin an old school zebber and a 22 is best for old school rigs! I think blackspire still make em. As do middleburn and tensile. But ur right 18t up front is more popular nowadays.
  21. I cant work it out. If there havin problems sortin it as a full bike or what ever start sellin the frame on its own! The market is goin mental right now Steve at heatsink has sold out all 24uk frames till next year! And tartybikes have no inspired fourplays in stock till august! Ashton could charge 300 quid each and they will sell. People seem to be going mad for 24" at the moment and ashton are missing out!
  22. Luke has a point bud, try use stuff from the onza it will work out cheaper for u.
  23. I must admit i would prefer to buy new. Peace of mind u know? I have the money sittin in my account for one! But yeah would be awesome if u let me know what goes on so i can do whatever! What colour did tarty have left? Lol im dying to get one and rip up the streets! Well after a bit of practice anyway! !
  24. I would check ebay mate, i bought a pair of truvativ hussfelts and bb for £15 off a mate then couldnt find a bash ring to fit. Then looked on ebay and found a brand new dmr ring thing for 20 quid so cranks and bash guard and bb for 35 quid so my advice is search ebay!
  25. EVOLVE!!!! It was what made me love trials! The hop over the gorillia was class! And the Ryan leech balls/ frame interface was mental! Good vid all round!
