  1. Also guys i have just been lookin on tartybikes and spotted the neon conquer forks, what are there like? Thats my sort of budget about £85 max, or less! Also any news on the inspired forks? I emailed adam at tartybikes and all he knew was they were still prototypes and suggested i email dave at inspired but i heard nothing back, thought maybe someone out there knows! Cheers guys
  2. Im Gunna look such a twat when i have built her cuz im still on the learning curve! Im struggling with my backhopping at the moment i can do about 2! I spent nearly 2 hours in the car park outside my flat trying to hop on the back wheel! I felt so silly people lookin out the window watchin an idiot fallin off a bright blue saracen again and again! Lol
  3. I already have the halo's so im stuck with them for now, i suppose i could just shim the bars and get a 90mm stem any suggestions? Maybe a bit more rise though. I might go with a 2.2 moto rt on the front or a tioga comp 3. Gearing i will try each suggestion and see which works best. Also any thoughts on how much stackers i should run? Thanks guys.
  4. A mate of mine had them on his old monty x-lite back in 2000, they are ment to give equal pressure into both pistons there for giving better braking. To be honest you wont feel a huge difference from one. They fit the same way as the barbed fitting on the cross over pipe so should be easy enough to fit on.
  5. yeah your right point taken. Ill remember that for next time! I am really excited about it its just a matter of time now. Thanks bud
  6. sorry dude didnt mean to get on everyones nerves.
  7. Well thanks to you guys my choice of 24" frame was made easier. So for the brake set up on my fourplay. Front; avid bb7 203mm, avid sd7 lever, oddessey super slik kable. rear; avid sd7 v-brake, avid sd7 lever, heatsink cnc coustellier pads, oddessey super slik kable. Any opinions on this are welcome.
  8. get the curtis mx24 its made of 4130 chromo steel its the same geo as the 800 quid sx24 which i can tell u is THE sweetest handling frame money can buy! But cost a mere £299 its a good bet anyway. Thats whats next on my shopping list after my inspired fourplay!
  9. Well i have been thinking over this all afternoon the spec of what im Gunna build it up with. Frame. Inspired fourplay forks. Onza wise guy wheels. Halo tornado rims on halo hubs tyres. Maxxis hollyrollers 2.4 front brake. Magura louise rear brake. Magura hs33 cranks. Trialtech forged bashring. Trialtech twin ring bars. Gusset open prison 3" stem. Gusset lil sod bmx stem pedals. Dmr v8 saddle. Inspired pivotal seatsort inspired pivotal headset. Fsa pig dh 18:12 gearing. Whats the thoughts on this spec guys?
  10. I appreciate your honesty steve some folk would steer people towards their product regardless. Im Gunna take the leap and get the fourplay:) i will however include some of your parts, some coust cnc pads and possibly a cloud 9 kit if can afford some middleburns! It may take a while i have a limited budget on this one:( but hey it will be worth it! Colour wise i want my wee bike to stand out abit just to give it my own stamp. Thanks guys.
  11. Yeah probably mate, i think i came up with the idea when i was sat around pissed up with some ridin buddies at my gaff!
  12. at the moment stock as its closer to what im used to riding, but im switching to 24" very soon
  13. I want a nice colour though, something smart and abit unusual. Maybe olive green or burgundy some thing darker than ur average white or black inspired.
  14. had several bad experiences with hope brakes! My mini decided to spit the dummy out at fort william @ nearly 40mph just as i wanted to slow for a rather large drop! My original hope mono trials was ok for the 1st 2or3 weeks then just went poo. And i have and m4 thats fine as long as u dont want to use it! I would prefer to use other brakes as im not overly keen on hope.
  15. yeah the spin doctor is a great hub really good. I will reuse it for my stock bike its just for my 24" i really want a single speed specific rear hub, was Gunna buy a khe geisha freecoaster so as to get creative but i think they will be too much trouble!
  16. Well i made the decision now its gotta be the inspired fourplay! Just got to decide what colour! Lol. So im looking forward to getting the inspired now i cant wait till i gets my dollar! And any suggestions on brake set up would be good obviously magura out back with some heatsink pads ( cnc cousts) but up front undecided! Not a hope though they are gash imo! Maybe a magura louise. Or a hayes stroker trail, any thoughts?
  17. the halo djd hubs were the ones i had in mind. A white one to match the black rim and white spokes that i already have. Looks pimp with the white spin doctor i want to replace. I read somewhere that the new dmr hubs ran a 6pawl system, like i have said previously i wont be spending alot of time on the back wheel as i will be (attempting!) the same was as danny macaskill! the halo djd hubs were the ones i had in mind. 18. ah mr spurgeon we meet again! I emailed u a while ago about the gold coust pads. Anyway how comes u reccomend the fourplay over your own creation? So whats new on the mk3 over the mk2?
  19. Who are marino? If they mate custom frames i might be interested in that if they are a reasonable price? Any info?
  20. splined are better because there is more interface between crank and bottom bracket axle, thus giving a stiffer crank for more positive drive. Hope that helped.
  21. i did think of that i must admit. But as i will be using it aboard a 24" so i wont be using it like a trials bike as such, more rolling in to stuff, manuals, bunnyhops and so on im not so sure it will matter as much?
  22. I just cant decide! And to bugger everything up i've just seen my 1st pics of the ashton effect and its gorgeous! damn it! Whats the score with them? The out yet?
  23. I have been lookin a rear hubs recently and it looks like u either spend a fortune on chris kings or hope pro 2's or anything else just doesnt seem to be up to scratch! So i was thinking that single speed dj disc hubs would be good enough for the job! There well built, tough and seem to run a decent pick up too. I know they will be heavier because of the steel axle. What does everyone else think?
  24. well not that i can do much any way but i would much rather have style than go big! Smooth is goooood!
  25. I have never ridden or owned a bmx! Lol i come from a street riding style on a single speed hardtail with one brake so i guess i have a bmx influence in my riding. As for the high bb comment it was when i bought a monty urban a few years ago and the high bb felt so alien to me and very uncomfortable so i would of thought the inspired would feel the same! But everyone seems to prefer the fourplay! I do like it and my mate suggested that would be the best choice. And im trying to work out the set up and build too! Was thinkin of using a singlespeed dirt jump hub on the back would that be a good choice?
