  1. I've been using the TR for a couple of months now, and I must say, it's a very good brake. The lever feels great, and looks pretty too. Only problem I've had, is the adjusting screw unscrewing itself when you press the lever. This has become quite annoying, but I guess it can be fixed with some kind of Loctite.
  2. Why has the Vee brake become so big then? How is it different from the magura?
  3. Well, as the price really isn't an issue, I'm just going for the best alternative right away. I'm preparing to stick with it anyway. And yes, I saw the Urban forks now. Heard they snap?
  4. Yes, I reckon that, and I'm leaning more and more towards a rim brake. More specific, the vee. Are there good forks available with vee mounts? If not I'll have to for for adaptors with a 4bolt fork, right?
  5. So, I really want inputs on what front break to choose, since mine just doesn't cut it(Shimano BR disc). I'm leaning towards a rim break, for better bite, but will I loose all my modulation? I also just want to clear this, so I know I've got it right. Bite is how fast the break stops the bike, and hold is how much weight it can hold on the rim before the bike runs again. Am I right there? I appreciate all inputs.
  6. Sorry about posting here then.. Anyway, how is the lever feel with a wire break? I might just try a vee. How's the bite/hold on a vee?
  7. You'll get a better bike second hand though.
  8. Hi. I was wondering how a front magura would be, compared to a good disc brake. I badly need better bite, so I'm going for a new one. All inputs are very appreciated. /Jan Tore
  9. If you can't find one, there's always the possibility to repaint it. Make sure to sand it and prime it before paint and clearcoat.
  10. Soo, even though it might be a kids frame or whatever, I must admit that I like it. So now I'm going to build it up with a shiny new "light" spec to make it a more fun bike to ride. I've searched through the whole tartypage on the look for light, nice parts, that also yield a bit of strength I hope. The goal would be around 7-8kg. Spec list: Front brake: Echo SL hydraulic rim brake, smooth rim. What pads do I want to use? Fork: Rockman Spade, 4-bolt only Stem: Trialtech sport forged Pedals: Try-all Ti-nesium Cranks: Rockman Lite cranks 160mm Rear rim: Try-all h0le Front rim: Try-all h0le Rear hub: Rockman Front hub: Rockman nondisc Tyres: Supersonic tyres from Continental Tubes: Welterweight back and supersonic on the front Headset: Tnn enginering topcap for my Echo SL headset. Is there any other place to gain a sagnificant weight loss? And am I on the right track to receive the wanted total weight? /Jan Tore
  11. Bike looks really awesome. Really like the way the colors blend together. How is it to ride?
  12. About 25-30 rear and slightly more in the front tyre. A bit less for natural.
  13. In the end, you'll have to ride them pretty damn hard to break them. I've actually been recommended the Control 09 frame. It's very strong, looks awesome(imo), and has a nice geometry. A riding mate of mine drilled 200 holes into his Control frame, and it still went on strong. I think that says a bit about it. If I was buying a frame right now, it'd be either the Control or the Stinger frame. I've only heard good about them, and since Ali C has designed and rode the Stinger quite a bit, it can't be bad. In the end, looks aren't that important
  14. Hi there. Weight is 10,48, so not actually lightweight. Well, problem is, it's not set at the moment. The bike is stripped. To quote Koxx: Attention: 70kg max. So basically I've bought a "kids" frame. No wonder it felt flexy.
  15. Aye, not much change here I can understand that the video was a bit boring. Will try to get more variation and some better lines next time. Thanks! /Jan Tore
  16. From that list, I'd go with Yaabaa Stinger I think. Put on some good snail cams, and you're off to go. Changing parts from the try-all kit is all good if you want to save some weight of course. Seems like you founds some nice replacements at least.
  17. It's all down with spacers on the top cap.
  18. Hola again. I've got pleasant news after a bit of adjusting the stem height. Lowered it quite a bit, and it feels much better on the rear wheel now. It's acting very well in both natural and tgs. A new stem now, and I think I'm all pleased with it.
  19. I'll try to help you out a little. So, generally, you can't go wrong with try-all what so ever. Their parts are allover pretty light and strong. So the bike kit you concider, won't disappoint you. For brakes, front disc and rear magura is one of the most popular setups. Front disc for brake modulation and rear magura for the bite. But make sure you get a good front break, and a good rotor, because I use some Shimano shit, and it just doesn't cut it. Now, for frame size, I would go for a long frame. I just recently bought myself a Koxx Foxx, and I feel it's a bit too short. I've only heard good about Control 09, Yaabaa stinger for example. For chain tensioners, the vertical dropouts use snail cams, and vertical has got more options as far as I've understood.
  20. Well, it's been some hours on the frame now. The frame generally feels pretty good. It's flicky and fun to ride, if not a bit to flexy. For me though, I think it's a bit short. But I can't really say that, since I haven't rode anything longer than 1080. Now, that's the short report. I might be able to add something more later, but I'm not the most experienced rider, so I don't have a lot to compare with yet.
