  1. Or the £4.99 Clarkes ones from Halfords, you get 4, that are well long, so you can cut em up etc to make the right length. they aint to fat either, like the ritchey ones
  2. cool, cheers for that, i was getting to the point of using windscreen washer hosing, I'll heat them up and have a go tomorrow.
  3. As it says, why is it so hard I understand there is an amount of pressure in the system which is how it works, but why does the hosing have to be so hard I suppose it all comes from my repeated failings when attempting to fit my Monty splitter, will it leak on the join if I heated up the hosing so it gets a bit soft before I fit it? Just don't feel safe tapping the splitter in 'cos it feels so dainty
  4. what hoses are you running on that maggie, they look clear? are they clear?
  5. trials and ska, possibly the best combo ever and Switzerland Squeakers, trials needs more of them and less footjam whip-drops, squeaker drops ***
  6. I thought the main reason for the demise of the Spinergy rev X wheels was the tendency to fail spectacularly and leave the rider with bits of carbon and ground in there face. Did make MTB ones as well
  7. its not actually that much effort, i chopped a back end down to lower a frame took about an hour (thinkin and cutting time). it took more time to get someone to let me use their welder
  8. haha, love the flex as it lands too, reminds me of my old GT Chucker. Used to feel like the back end wanted to come off if you did a g-turn, was so bendy
  9. +1, Just file the ends off the little rivets, bash em' out with a spoke, then use the spacers that fall out and the cogs to make a 6 speed one, i.e use 6 rings instead of 8
  10. my favorite approach is clearcoat, squirt it in, slip it on, spin it round till it sticks. GT85 sticks em' on good too, when the oil has evaporated, someone told me it was due to the PTFE content
  11. Pashley tv series ones do, the stainless ones, got one for £4.99, in og packaging one of the bike shops in my area has quite a collection
  12. to be honest i think your sorted! keep the others for when they break or you want higher stuff, that'd be my approach either that or burn them for warmth when your riding in the winter
  13. I agree with that, i have a monty splitter, unfitted but i can see it shearing off as i try to fit it, might a threaded job just in case :/
  14. Whenever a topic on tensioners comes up people say make a spoke tensioner. How? Where do you mount it and how do you mount it (photos would be helpful) I can understand that the natural springiness of the spoke does the tensioning its just the mounting I cant get my head round Cheers Sam
  15. i cant pump at all, theres a guy in portsmouth i see skating about a lot who can pump like a nutter, he actually accelerates doesn't just keep his momentum. its cool to see
  16. yeah i'll have a look now, no-complys look like a right pain in the knee and trials gives me enough of that
  17. Sweeet shlongboard, I ride a regular double kick one, albeit badly, just older school than i should be, hardly any smooth ground where i live though and i'm not gunna drive somewhere to practice. I found a real good tutorial video by some kid, its quite easy once you get the 'pop', the no-comply is a bit of a different matter
  18. I've been trying to do tricks and stuff on bikes for 11 years and I still suck, it all comes down to the amount of practice you put in, the more you ride the better you get, trials aint' easy, to me thats the point of it. keep trying, it'll feel well good when you finally learn stuff that you've been trying for ages. If you can't do one thing learn something else (variants on the bunnyhop for instance, try and put the kick into a bunnyhop), instead of trying again and again on one thing make a little section that forces you to do things that you find hard. takes me ages to learn stuff, don't stress about it
  19. went for a dig in the parts pile, found a bb cup with the right size hole in, result, no blunted drill bits for me Thanks again for the advice though
  20. Cheers, I'll post up some pics of the finished idea. Hopefully it'll make use of some spare parts (including a whole bike).
  21. How would you suggest clamping the part when I drill it? I can get the use of a pillar drill but I don't want to damage the threads, thats the bit I have a plan for
  22. Right the bit to machine is like 3-4 mm thick, the hole is 16mm dia, its a non sealed BB cup. cheers
  23. So what will touch it, I know a grinder will, as will water-jet etc. but will a dremel hit it? I gotta enlarge a hole up to 19mm, so yeah, whats your thoughts I know this forum has a penchant for modified/custom parts so I reckon there must be some opinions on here Cheers Sam
