  1. If it was braced you couldn't open bottles with it as easily though
  2. a rather shameful 54.2 km, not very well traveled
  3. I'm pretty sure it is him, just watched the LA video and then looked up at the TV only to see him pivoting around on the front wheel. Was well odd
  4. seat clamps as headset spacers beer can seat post/bar shims 12 different chain off cuts to make one chain drilled/modified mech sprockets to make it fit a 6 bolt disc mount (make it fixie) re greasing sealed bearings (pop the seals out, squirt de greaser in, put grease in pop seal back in) gear cables for brake (gyro lowers) jamming the pawls up in a freehub (using the bearings that fall out) to make it fixed BB lockring on a 'normal' freewheel hub to make it fixed (suicide cog) drilled out threaded maggie mounts and nuts put below bit of a bodger on the quiet
  5. the chunky stealth bomber bike is wrong side drive too, looks like a hoot
  6. itsa couple of years old now i think, i'll find a linky# edit: http://prometheus.med.utah.edu/~bwjones/C1516441744/E20060724141536/Media/Honda%20mountain%20bike.jpg
  7. Have you seen the honda one with the 'box?
  8. it's not a gearbox, its a system of jackshafts, the drive starts on the left, goes up, goes across to the right and then down to the rear. Gives more ground clearance i suppose, its geared all 1:1 until it reaches the hub. The one on there site has all profile bmx sprockets edit: had a look the gearing does change from cog to cog at the front, still not a gearbox as such
  9. here's a heavy one, the Brooklyn Machine Works Race Link, I heard in the old school trim (see linky) they weighed 60 pounds! Click the Race Link link at the bottom http://www.brooklynmachineworks.com/index2.html
  10. Or use a hollow carbon crank, instead of that metal one. I suppose bushings instead of bearings would give a weight saving too and remove the front brake
  11. Thanks for the info, sorry I got the sizing wrong I'll get on with the fitting when I get some clamps
  12. Like it says, how? The Maggies have one side with M6 fittings, and the other side has M8/M6 I believe. Do I just put the hoses from the splitter into the M6 holes, i.e the ones the crossover came out of and make a bung for the M8 hole? or put one in the M8 hole (the old fluid in port) and the other in an M6? Confused yet? I have another HS33 I can get an M6 M6 one from so if it goes like that its not a problem Thanks Sam Edited: for accuracy
  13. me three, watch as well, its a bit odd, I can lead with the right but everything works better lefty, i can side hop better left-ways too. :|
  14. sorry dude not sure of the year, i recon it looks about the same year as this one http://www.trashzen.com/bike-trials/wp-content/uploads/2001-Megamo-stock-Rafal-K-btbike.jpg I havent had it form new , i send you some better pictures of it if you want
  15. She's a beaut, the old school stuff looks so odd next to the modern bikes, they look like bikes for a start
  16. I dont think nitromors would strip chrome so you might be able to get the chrome back. Or you could use my favorite, fairy power spray that destroys paint
  17. Yeah 5, bought 2 got 3 for free, all came neatly packaged inside one that was barely more than a baby herself. Thank you pets at home I'll try to change this to the old school in general thread Post it up! There aint much about Megamo online so I know very little about them, any info 'bout them would be appreciated
  18. Cool cheers for that. Maybe we should make this into an old school mod thread?
  19. Right posting up some photos of the Megamo All original apart from: grips, pedals, tyres and pads. Got a Planet X Union Jack seat to go on it and some Maggie Race Lines Its old, very, made of steel :/ At my old house with the pallet set up, in the end I got it up 5 of them Wheel base is 1000mm but I aint worked out bb rise etc
  20. That is a Megamo Pro 20, all original apart from pedals, grips, brake pads and tyres. It all works and rides good, has a ffw set up. I can upload more pics if you want
  21. Got the opportunity to get a Mod frame and fancy the Lynx, I know its quite an old design but it still looks pretty fresh and I'm still learning really. So what the deal with them, any bad experiences etc
  22. That would be cool, you could do two of them and tranny from one to the other. They'd fit better in the car in halves too, come to think of it I have a water butt kicking around and one of them base thingies too
  23. I have thought about a 205l (10 gallon) oil drum full of soil, would be a similar size, would it be suitable? also could it be more damaging to the bike
  24. Right, recently moved house and have a nice area where I can build a little section. Just wondering if any of you have any pointers. In my last house I had a pallet pile, not too stimulating looking for something a bit more inspirational. Just want ideas of layouts/obstacles etc. Thanks Sam
