£200 5.1 system will sound better than £200 worth of amp and speakers. unless u get a complete bargain (talking rrp here not 2nd hand)

sorry i disagree with nearly everything people have posted, cheap amps sound cheap and cheap speakers sound even cheaper. If you havent got a clue you'll probably think your £100 eltax floorstanders are good but compare them to something with a clue and you'll realise. Its like a trials rider jumping on an onza tv and thinking its the muts nuts, then riding a decent bike.. "oh" If you want to build a proper system spend the money, go for a decent amp and if it were me I'd only buy B&W speakers, you can get some bargains on ebay if you go for the older systems. 601's perhaps if you want a small system?

People I know that dont each much fruit and snack on crap all day long tend to be ill or feeling bad a lot more than people who eat well.

dont get pc specific ones, go for a dvd surround package and you'll get more for your money. you can get decent enough systems for £100+ but if it were me id try and go for something good. Bose have a resonable reputation and shouldnt cost too much, I also listened to a samsung system in new york which sounded great but I couldnt tell you the price.

I wouldnt bother buying one for home use, theyre too heavy to pour with properly and not that it matters, because theyre for optics the labels are upside down :x
