Nice one bud, honestly if you do what i explained it will be perfect, don't be scared to take at least 2.5.to 3mm depth of the outer part of the bash ring, that bit is the cause of the bashring not fitting. Never had a problem with it twisting.
-
Guys you need to grind or file a nice grove for the cranks other wise you'll end up damaging the threads due to the uneven force the bashring is putting on the freewheel. If you put the bashing on mark each side of the crank onto bashring then remove and file in-between the lines to make a channel for the crank to sit in. This will fix your problem and the ring should fit perfecrly square.

while on the subject whats the korts like?? I did look at them before i got the limey 3, the only thing that put me off was the crazy high BB.

Hi peeps, ive been looking at carbon bars and was wondering if any one has used/tried these and whats the strenth and feel like. much flex etc. cheers
-
Thanks kev i'll need to come down at some point but won't manage on the 2nd. i'll have the date by the end of next week if thats ok?? Yeah rabs bike is nice, i had a quick shot and the set up seems good. Think the terrain was a bit of a shock to the system, short runs and power moves which need to be spot on are needed quite alot when wet. I was out again today in the rain at mound, trying to get as much practise in so i get to a semi decent level before the first trial, still find my fitness is crap but yet on the motorbike i've got plenty. just heading out now so have a good newyear and will catch up soon. cheers garymac

wish it was closer, would like to get a day out at some point. rab was at the mound with me for a hour or two yesterday, was just passing through on his way north!!
-
not sure yet, will get the scales out next time i see him and let you know
-
Yeah i did know the booster was not needed, i just stuck it on as it was christmas pressy, it will be off soon as for the bash gaurd thats there till the skill factor has raised so no damaged gets done when moves fail, that also will get removed in a month or so. The bash ring is fitted as normal, the bash plates a after thought for the now so no damage gets done, will be off soon enough.

Am one never to miss a trick and some times it pays off, this was one of them!!! can't believe it got passed the quality test or wait there was there one??????
-
yeah true am sure there are alot of people out there who would just use it but for me it aint right and i like things to be the way they are ment to be. lets face it, the hub is faulty, if you guys could see how bad the fit is you would undrstand, apart from moving back and forth it also moves up and down about 2mm there for not catching the teeth alot at all. DODGY.COM.
-
Well well well thanks to Adam at tartys for emailing echo with my pictures because the hub I have is faulty and no ware near correct so its getting changed through warranty. Pretty happy I started this thread as I would of went ahead and just used it. Down side is my wheel build was pointless as I now have to de-lace and start again with a new hub. So how many more are there out there with the same problem?
-
Well lets see what echo have to say, Am 100% this aint right but i could be wrong, If the hub stan was looking at today was perfect why is the new one i have not the same, very odd!! i'd far rather have one thats fits the sprocket correctly, If you have a look at your sl hubs and see if you can find one with shark teeth profile and try the sprocket on, Its feels pretty shocking how loose it is.
-
Afternoon all, well i phoned tartys and am sure it was stan i got so explained the situation etc and emailed pictures through aswell so awaiting a return email, the funny thing was he went and got a sl hub to look at and guess what, it had nice flat machined teeth which sounds to me i have a faulty echo hub. how cheesed off i'll be if this is the case!!!
-
Yeah am sure I'll get through at some point, stans good to deal with so hopefully it gets sorted, I'm a right fuss bucket with high standards and to me it just ain't right! yeah the lock ring does hold it but as stated its there to stop it sliding off nothing else. Thanks for you help though mark it us appreciated!
-
I'll be calling tomorrow to get this sorted hopefully, will be rather peed off if my pretty much perfect wheel build will be getting dismantled. One of these things I guess and its not tarty bikes fault at the end if the day!
-
comfort lol this is trials we're talking about here!! start in forth rev the bike medium throttle and slip the clutch like i explained thats how its done t get started. motorcycle trials has a lot of skill and timing involved. best not think about it to much bud, if you had a bike and where to get a days coaching by a semi pro/or pro you would soon realise

Any one up for some natural riding at the MOUND kinlochleven round kinlochleven, plus up at the pipe line where danny mac shot some video footage. get some riding in before we all go back to work and normality .
-
If your wanting to do a big hill climb you'll always start in a high gear, i would use 4th to start with on the gasgas. How its done is a term called slipping the clutch, high revs and gradually letting the clutch out and this will continue through the duration of the hill if you were to lose alittle power just in with the clutch and give it the welly and slip the clutch again. Massive steps where the splat technique is needed you would chose 3rd and hold the throttle flat out till you think the piston is going to come out the cyclinder , trials riders know what i mean by that!! and drop the clutch using your body to compress and lift.

Just bought myself a HD camcorder so plan to make a video up with both bikes, some big british standerd stuff on the gasser with some well lets say novice cycletrials riding so watch this space in a month or two.
