  1. okay, thats the reason my vids werent street enough:i didnt put my hands in front of the lens and i didnt throw my bike away a single time haha they forgot to mention to thrill pedestrians with gapping across the stairs they walk to or from work with a croissant in their face
  2. that was weird and cool at the same time. edit:spelling
  3. !!! ... ??? i can imagine spokes changing their angle to the hub and nipples ,when the hub is stopped and the rest of the wheel is trying to continue rotating because its under load. hence a 2 cross would come near to a tangential angle when braking,in 3cross spokes would end in an angle over tangential, beeing bent due to that, not pulled only. in this i assume you got a hub flange over 45mm diameter and a rim under 510mm e.r.d.(most 24 inch dirt, street, trials combos except the ones with assymetrical flanges???) isitafox, give it a try,dt has 28 disc enduro wheels and they work.
  4. imagine to have at least 12% more pulling force on the spokes when braking, then imagine the spokes beeing bent due to the angle the nipple would have with 3x.
  5. may be interested in how crmo steel had performed edit:only an impact test isnt really telling the whole story imo. how about tensile strenght. the vid is just telling that stuffs elastic module is high
  6. 2-cross,3-cross? i´d go for 2 as the angle between spokes and nipples will be less weird.
  7. haha, now we just need a label called"chris kong" for absolute confusion...
  8. dont laugh at me ,but tektro make an incredible stiff one. i run that thing on my rear 4-bolt mount now, fortunately the spacing was right. was pretty awesome with my front vee i had once though
  9. wooohaaa tra on a triton...
  10. its like to heat a parmesan to let it get emmentaler consistency and then think youll have the same tensile strength again. emmentaler has to dry to get hard again, but will never be parmesan again, unless you do it in a gas atmosphere... i´ll stick to the knife with wich the cheese is beeing cut, best knifes are made of steel haha that comparison was ill
  11. no no,i didnt.i´d rather think welding alu is senseless. if you glue 2 pieces of cheese together it will always snap near the glue, because the glue is harder than cheese. :wink2: maybe the first alu frame made completely out of welding material will not be likely to snap lol
  12. anyone got pics of their recently finished marino stuff?wanna see them while theyre hot...

  13. repair weldings can be done by yourself, isnt rocket science really, just an hour of practice. welded a cracked brake mount once,np. (no,it wasnt on my marino hehe)
  14. isnt secret anymore now, obviously :wink2:
  15. interested in that.too sad we´ll try that when they come out.not before
  16. i knew something like that would happen sooner or later
  17. "http://videos.mtb-news.de/embed/player/25876" not from today,but where to put a single clip??? :wink2:
  18. for some reason i like this one a lot. you´ll have to go 1080p, but those 3d lens effects are cool edit:that guy must have taken 20 fresh shirts to film this,to prevent showing sweat stains
  19. you may have a look at the tensile lever, leon.seems to be pretty massive and reachy
