  1. yeah, got one on the front, was really(really!)surprised by the power at first, until now its awesome. it took me a bit to get used to the lever shape though
  2. he hasnt been talking about hammering something for a good while,i think he can be rehabilitated.
  3. yeah, deffo going for a racing line lever if magura wont be "rowing back" and my lever gets f...
  4. i dare saying that it was probably the case magura checked their stock remainings and thought:"hey, what should we do with all those carbon parts that lay around cracked and somebody said:lets shred them!and another guy noticed there is a lot of plastic granulate left and thought:what should we do with it?and somebody said:lets melt it! then someone came across and said:hey what about mixin both the plastic and the carbon stuff and build something from that trash to make some money? and they said:hey its 2011,the world will end in 2012,who will notice after all? voila, actual lever body. i love the thought of it beeing this way, seeing no technical advantage of the new design. i hope it for them
  5. how about my "learn to ride and use smooth rims" comment i resisted telling since the thread started? :wink2:
  6. last cord is a great dj/park bike, rode a pals one once, was spinny as hell.
  7. holy sh.t thats a big improvement!
  8. thats a beautiful bike you have there sir pics from before painting?
  9. thats sh.t man,get well soon. we need your vids for surviving.
  10. i ride a fresh harsh grinwith hard pads until the first "gloss" appears, then i go on with softer compounds. grinding every 4 months or so, without any prob. and i am riding nearly every minute of spare time i have. again its the personal preference thing...
  11. ali,you had a brakeless phase,as we all know. but to go straight to bikeless before even beeing chainless, that was awesome :wink2:
  12. people who cant explain better and whinge about are worse and people who maintain their bike with a hammer and a screwdriver
  13. there are many people that can build a wheel, but there arent many who can hear the wheel isnt true by hitting the spokes with a screwdriver, without the need to even look at what your doing,as my 67yrs old senior boss can do. you can make an art out of everything edit:the 50 per wheel thing is just because of the labour values we have to stuff into an our of real work to stay in the game. in germany thats in a low price range true story
  14. i found the lever of mt a little too flexy
  15. i can, too.but i wouldnt,i am seeing it as a high art that needs its time to get near perfection, and my customers think this is good. in germany theres no way to get rich that way, bike shops in munich city charge 65+eur. thats a lot
  16. blue-rollers´n´plates green-pin yellow-contact surface orange-initial force red-resulting force the red forces in the drawing are compensated in a big part by the fact the chain has no end when joined together, but minimal bending forces will stay present,i think especially with the peak forces trials provokes. if you make the transfer surface smaller, changing the leverage between the initial lever(roller contact point on pin) and the resulting one(the plates wich dont change size),creating a different force transmission, the remaining parts will be put under the force that isnt relieved in the first part, making the whole system weaker. hope it makes sense
  17. talking of the internal force route i´ll get a pic
  18. contact between the chain rolls and the pin....the rolls go round the pins you know... and afaik the force is applied to the rolls at least
  19. its more force per mm2,because the contact surface is smaller, the smaller the surface, the higher the force(pure math physics) the more bending and fatigue happens. hence yes,i am saying it.
