I just wouldn't bother with ipod full stop, after I bought my nano I had sooo many problems. It's not a case of sending it off for a fiver. If you spend that much money on a gadget you want it to be reliable. Personally I would go for the SanDisk one I would definatly recomend one WITHOUT an internal battery and 1 x AAA battery for 19 hours seems pretty impressive.
