  1. nice rocks...... not many though, if someone seriously wants rocks.... ....Guernsey has 24 miles of coastline to play on!! not mentioning the other channel islands
  2. Titanium steel Forget the price for the mo..... obviously the titanium will be loots lighter and stronger so..... How much lighter would the titanium BB be than the steel? How much stronger would the titanium BB be than the steel? Anybody got experiences with either? chars in advance
  3. bang on!! same choice here!
  4. Surely the amount of rim tape you'll be using to stop the buldge of the inner tubes on this rim.... kinda cancels out the weight you've saved??? I'm all for drilled rims, but surely theres a limit to what rim tape can do?
  5. and XT jobby  brought just one week beforehand, (the day i went to the IOW doing big drops too). Didnt last long. If anyones interested.... the parts im replacing the broken bits with look like a raceface expensive bb - either the 40 or 80 quid fancy annodised ones (not that anyone can see your bb!!). And the wheel should be being built up by tarty soon with a new ronnie rim and GRIND this time - no more tar!! cheers for all the response guys! i've learnt my lesson ( i think ), he he
  6. fraid not, couple with cameras, and they both take a photo! dammit! two bbs? maybe thats why it held up sooo long! te he he yeah and all you guys were like " what rim do you use??. how the hell is it holding up?? " ha ha those were the times (only one week ago) grass is better than concrete though - i agree! brilliant - filled me with confidence now! :) The laughter did take my mind off the pain though! just thought - this was one expensive drop!! new rim, wheelbuild, and now i need a fancy bb that holds! :P cheers for the support guys!! Doctor guy sed no riding for a while, lets see little that while is . . . . . (Y)
  7. A glorious winters day (when expecting snow) gave me more motivation than ever to ride. Reminding myself not to go too big, because i had a bit of a buggered chain (snapped the night before, and i 'repaired' it just for todays ride), i was happyly enjoying smaller streety bits of trials. Before long, with the nice cold sea breeze settling in early afternoon. we reached "old Portsmouth", a popular and well known trials playground. Spice island was all good and my chain still strong. A extremely cold wind too! A nice big fat greesy cheeseburger with chips warmed me up on our way towards clarence pier ish. Mid journey, we briefly stop off at that famous archway drop, with that nice gap too. Locals will know the one - heres a pic of me in mid flight infact....... Still quite chilly and in desperate need for some adrenalin i veture up to the top, couple of 8ft drops later, people are still standing around with they're warm hoodies on. So i thought " why not, lets try the 10fter ontop of the archway". Few got they're cameras out. all was well, last minute check of all my chain links gave me the confidence. Imagine yourself in my shoes..... trackstanding nervously, yank up the front wheel, i slowly gap concentrating soooo hard to the edge, for a brief second everthing goes slow, i have all the time in the world to perfect this manouvue (sp!). Tuck my bum down real good, lower the front end slowly, and gap..... :'( ...... the new tar i put on a few mins ago sticks that little bit too much, almost as if my brake locks for a second too long. Instead of being a slow carefull drop - its suddenly turned into the quickest panicy riding of my life. i launch forward more than down unexpectidley, all is well and recovered - chain was ok! Until i hit the deck. So quick i dont remember. (But looking at the scenario afterwards it went something like.....) BB snaps on the right side, that foot lands safely on concrete sandwiching my right pedal. The left foot on the other hand ( he he good punn :'( ) takes all my body wieght still on the pedal. The bike falls to one side. i walk off it as if i fell down a couple inch high curb, bugger. I wonder round insisting nothing hurts, and im just shivering with the cold. I look back at my bike in amonsgt the crowd of ashtonished fellow riders, the crank completely seperate from the bike. And the wheel, oh my..... Having never really broken any trialsy parts before, and barely even straightened this wheel, even though i've done many drops before, this was amazing. EGG, kinda spells it out, half the spokes as loose as string, one side just flat. And woudlnt roll through the maggy any more ;) . Chain was all ok though! :( To show my pain i drew a little picture of where it all hurts.... orange = sore red = inscrewsheee-aating pain and heres a couple of snaps ( another punn :) ) of the amazing equipment i used...... Moral of the story - *shrugs shoulders* maybe dont bother going to A and E for 3hours unless theres lots of blood and sticky outy bits!? Anyone recommend a new rim or bb? lol

    Our Itunes

Do you have itunes? Are you connected to a network? (possibly in university halls with 100 of other users!?) Have you ever viewed or played the "shared music" found in itunes desperatley wanting it for yourself? look no further outitunes "borrowing" music from hundreds of hall mates as we speak, and much faster, and reliable than my ethernet 56k connection off the net!! :P

  17. snapped norco from the start of this summer. In Guernsey. Sams (nichols_sam) old frame..... Crappy low resolution cos im limited to upload space on here.... i've got bout 5 pics on the brokeness, so if you want bigger quality ones add me to msn...... i think its quite a good snap.... but yeah, msn me if you want more / higher quality dude :P
  18. try and find one of the old 42mm try all rims.... got mine built onto a king from ebay a year back (second hand too! ) and barely straightened it!! amaziing stuff. It takes 10ft drop stacks, big pinches, 180s, 360s, sideway gaps and doesnt buckle or dent one big! and im a harsh as hell rider from time to time! im running heatsinks (the old lellow jobbies) on it fine - without a grind! works well, if the brake is settup bang on perfect! i dont need any more..... considering a grind, but its too much hassle lol :P
  19. along with all the other suggestions of altering your bike, just practise yanking the bars up. If a rider can manual - they could probly do it on any bike, its more abotu technique than bike i think. I can manual a 7inch rear travel DH bike with triple clamps no problem aswell as a trials bike. yeah - so just give the bars a big yank to get it up, and if your manualing, once its up it'll stay up easy with practise
  20. dont have a clue. i caught the fastcat yellow thing, that takes bout 15mins from portsmouth harbour train station :P
  21. ello chaps and chapesses, heres a few snaps from my first visit to the isle of white on sunday the 21st. Mostly of the island's riders..... (and a dead whale! ha) I'd like to say they are good photos... as aposed to amazing trials moves! but anyway, what are they looking at....? oh, THAT thing! (54ft dead beached whale.... as you do! and you can see its willy! ) my favourite....!
