  1. loverly! i like the little birdies in the sky the best......
  2. ME too!! I, just the other week snapped a KMC, and so forked out for a KHE collapse jobby! and its proved extremely strong! and looks huge! But anyway back to the point.... i also have serious problems with chain skippage, and it sounds like we;re on the same level, mine too just skips when i'm pedalling herd up to something, but 9/10 only skips on that last important revolution. Mine doesnt skip when gaphoping, or staticy hoppy hoppy stuff! I have replaced chainring, cog, chain and derailier to find it all the same But, recently have (i think) discovered the problem, and thats chain tension! If my chain isnt super tight, the chain skips over the teeth on the rear cog, then skipping.... If i run my mech locked out (ive got two wheels on it), then crank it as far away from the frame as poss.... increasing chain tension, its fine - and it doesnt skip! Only had this going for several rides ok, so theres a chance im wrong... that might help anyway..... (and it keeps your bike nice and queit:P) andy
  3. check out www.tartybikes.co.uk for a huge rang of pads.... they also explain which pads are good for different conditions and rims..... Heres the info about the koxx range.... (from the site)

whats cls ? i got cityoflondonsinfonia come up link?
  5. Earthed 3 ?? Is already out mr.... on crc I REALLY wanted to go to that movie premier thingy in london - but the megabuss back to portsmouth would have left london during the first mtb movie! So it would have been pointless. annoying! Couple of bmx friends went though for the bmx vids midday - said it was suprisely empty in the whole place? was it really? suprised me to hear that, sounds like the dvd event of the year! andy
  6. I think most of the problem is down to the winter! Personally this happens to me everyyear, not just in trials - but every area of mtbing. I Personally deffinatley find it good to change between disciplines, so mayeb a street bike is an idea? At uni i've only got my street and trials bikes with me, and i'm desperatley waiting to get home for xmas to ride something muddy and different!! Its been 3months riding concrete and GOD DAMMIT im bored!! - so if you've only ever really riden trials, i can see this as where the boredem mite be coming from.... Possibly a phase....? - every now and then i have "ride trials 26hours a day cos i love it" phases, then suddenly changing to "i'd rather sleep till 4pm that get up, either fix my bike or ride". ??? Thats my views anyway matey.....
  7. well having really only ever owned a giant frame for trials i'm gunna say GIANT. My new planet x - from the stories, probly wont last long, but i well trust other planet x frames, e.g. jack flash and bomber.... for mtbing other than trials. I'm impressed with the abuse i've seen leesons having too - having riden a few i quite like them! just a bit too £££ for me
  8. both On everybike.... but i cant manual the roadie he he Nothing mentioned about 'coasters' though! i can do that too - not on the trials bike though, DH or xc bike with a higher saddle, like a manual - but sitting down! have to do it on a hill ideally! As many people have suggested... the easiest way to learn to wheelie is on a xc bike - as your centre of gravity is higher - and therefore easier to whip the front up! Then just practise and experience gets you doing it on other bikes....
  9. shweet trick dude! but how exactly do you get to that position??
  10. too many maybes and not enough yes's !!!
  11. 3 main reasons why there might be spongeyness........ (that i can think of) 1) New cable = slightly stretchy - give it a few rides, and it'll be solid 2) Your pads settup.... do they both hit the rim at the exact same time? does all of the pad touch the rim at the same time? you need a yes to both of those Qs to get it solid! 3) flexy frame? possibilty... andy
  12. Snapped bb..... :P Still recovering..... topic here.... andy :P

LOVE IT! :) music is fab!! the only thing i might comment on is the filming side, some of which is slightly jerky. But the rest is A ok! now im off to bed :)
  14. Noones mentioned michellin yet :) Personally i'm a big fan of michellin 24s for the rear.... I've never really had a maxis on for long, so its probably not a good comparison. Front for me is either a panaracer fire xc or michellin xc jobbie (as light as poss) ..... or any other xc tyre that i finished using on the xc bike really. I've used tioga tyres on the front - but found them very thin and pinchy! Looking at the bikepics gallery could give you a good idea of what to use! Theres quite a few maxis tyres in there!! :)
  15. It will work almost as well i think, just not as for long. Which means the wd40 will turn shitty and black and will need replacing often. GT85 will make it manetence free(ish). Sounds like the returning slowness you've described could be one of a few things, some of which people have said, but i'll cast my views: - - the ends of the outer cables - what did you cut them with? a proper cable cutter? if not, you may have given them an egg shape and therefore will cause loots of friction on the inner cable. -is it one long outer? or bits of outer? the bits will mean the above idea is more likely - so check all starts and stops of outer cable.... - inner cable too 'thick'? i found when mixing manufacturers some inner cables were simply too thick for the outers, not really allowing enough room for smooth easy movement. So now i tend to just buy cable kits - that are made to fit together, e.g. avid flakjacket kit. - the grease does indeed sound like a problem - it will gunge up your cable and inside of the outers, may even have to get new ones if you've put too much in. - the tension on the brake arms - make the spring / tension in the brake arms more = lever will retract much quicker - kinky cable? is the only other suggestion i have.... is there anywhere where the cable mite be also kinked or round a tight corner? this too will cause lots of friction. Are you using one of those '90degree silver bits' that is at the brake end of the equation? is the inside of that friction free? once, i bent that a bit more than 90 degrees to fit it a bit snugger into the frame, if you do that, it will make it harder for the cable to move. think thats all If you like - you could disemble the entire settup and rebuiid it from scratch 'testing' each part of the cable on the way.... eg. put the cable in the outer and pull with your hands each way - does it move freely? it should almost fall out with gravity to bee super smooth. Then when you put the connectory ends on the outer.... does it increase friction? Maybe this way you can find the problem........ think that IS all :)
  16. I have a portfolio of soley bike related shots, now over 50 photos in size, so i found it hard to choose one that stood out. I had the choice of which location i prefer to see in a photo, composition, rider, time of year / weather, and most importantly - which dicipline of mountainbiking should be in the image!? I couldn't decide any of the above, i chose this image as it sums up my life as i love it.... Riding my bike, anywhere it takes me. The shot was taken just over the road from home, and being away from home at uni the last few months its made me realise how important home is! I cant wait to go back at xmas! :) (500th post = another square! <--- he he)

    Tf Suggestion

maybe, as apposed to icons / emotions in there: make another "rule" like the ones at the top of the page. . . . Please state FS or WTD or EBAY or OT BEFORE entering your product in the title! Nothing else will do - if it is incorrect you will have it removed - we're fed up of random titles!! ...... for example? (Y)
  18. that would answer my problem! dammit! thanks anyway (Y)
  19. ha ha tis a good un 8/10 edit: you are falling in the sea right? if not 6/10
  20. so thats a yes then!! any more for any more? ?
  21. all the nicolai frames are amazing!! i've riden a few, but none of the hardtail variety - i want them all
  22. dont know whether my diagram makes sense..... basically im trying to up the resolution in my display properties - so everything on screen appears smaller, like change the whole computer display from 1024 x 768 to 1240 x 860 odd, but instead it 'zooming out' as it should - and thats how i want it! It just makes the whole desktop bigger than i can see! so i have to scroll around to see all my desktop (kinda like a huge photo in IExplorer) Its arkward to explain >_< ill try stu's idea, see if that works....
  23. good find! i found the site, but i was too distracted by the amazing DH bikes to notice theres a trialsy bit >_<
