  1. just my easiest suggestion for you mate which helped when i was starting out building websites. Just right click you desktop background then go to properties click the settings tab at the top then change the screen resolution to 800*600 if you make your website to fit the entire screen of this then you have a website that will be "universal" as you called it simply change your resolution back which is probably to the more common 1024*768 then your done, the website will be made to fit the exact screen size of the less fortunate people with older computers. hope that helped you a bit, stu (Y)
  2. look at the hefty price tag aswell, along with it saying that all the laptops need repairing! what a deal!
  3. "abnormal program termination" "runtime error" blah blah blah Since i have had the new msn 7 this is all i keep getting so i can never sign in, now im normally pretty good with computers being a web designer but this ones pissing me off a lot. Are there any patches / updates that can sort this out? any help would be appreciated, stu (Y)
  4. door to door car valeting, worked for me when i was about 12 and wanted to get my first bike, ok it was a raleigh fargo piece of crap but its helped me choose between trials and freeride, i chose trials and here i am. What you want to look for is the sort of job that is not going to be bothered about all the legal restrictions etc. For a long time i worked in a scrap yard spray painting skips at £8 per skip, in 4 hours of a saturday morning i could get 10 done and thats given me £80 for the rest of the week. The thing is scrap yards arent always running by the books so thigns like this can be swung a little. Alternatively try a local bike shop, shop assistant or as has been suggested café or bar working. The main thing is prove yourself and show your confidence, this will help you get what you want.
  5. i cant be assed to read it all but it looks pretty cool. Not that i admire this sort of thing its just amazing how quickly the world is evolving and what can be done. roll on the cure for cancer !!!!
  6. well i dropped out of school at 16  CLEVER! to go into the real working world which is now panning out lovely for me, i got and currently hold a job as a website designer/admin and have just turned 17. Managed to get the company to vouch the cost of £3000 for a 2 year CIW webmaster course over the next 2 years which should give me 5 certifications. The plan is then for my boss to open up his own website designing company, employee more professionals and keep me as managing director. could be 25 with a company car and my own house etc. I love it "
  7. if you are lucky just going to www.windowsupdate.com will help, do the usual scan and choose "select optional software updates" something like that anyway and if you are really lucky enough the windows update can sometimes recognise what hardware you have and what drivers are missing. It worked when my mate lost his sound card driver. hope that helps a little, stu ;)

  11. dont download toolbars, toolbars are a main cause of spyware they are infested with it. you can go to www.panicware.com and download a free popup blocker, i run this at home along with zonelabs security which has a pop up blocker and havent ever had one popup through them.
  12. just bumping this up to see if anyone has an answer
  13. the problem is the flash file has already been made and i deleted the project afterwards so i was just left with the finished .swf (its a stupid habit i have of deleting things) its gonna be hard for me to make the enter button link to another page.
  14. i want to use filesharing at work, using a program such as "ares" but i cant get through our networks firewall, i really wanna use filesharing here cos we are on a super fast T1 internet connection and have an unlimited bandwidth. any help would be great, cheers

  16. ok so my site is made in asp and ive made a flash file as an intro, when you click the "enter" button the link is directed at "home.asp" which i thought would be a good name for the page seeing as it is the home page. Also believing that "index.asp" would be the first page that is brought up on the url adress. so my problem is i want "index.asp" to load up and when the enter button is clicked it takes you to "home.asp" But even when i have "index.asp" in the right directory it always loads up "home.asp" i dont want this, but if i delete the "home.asp" file from the directory entirely then the "index.asp" page will load up first. i dont really know whats going on here but im used to working on html not asp so any help would be greatly appreciated cheers, stu >_<
  17. i think its that little bit that you pull off the the inside of the freehub which allows you to release the freehub body. i had this problem cos mine had developed a bit of movement and everytime i took the rear wheel out my freehub would fall off so i got one of them new little bits and it clipped on really nice and snug, job was done for me >_<
  18. download a program that you like then go to: www.mscracks.com or www.cracks.me.uk get yaself a serial, keygen or a crack and alakazam, you have a full program :o

  20. i personally dont like nad because the amps seem to be fairly easy to blow up, technics have produced the best hi fi amps i have ever used, excellent quality, volume and they last years. denon amps are good but the likes of marantz and sony arent. harman/kardon do some very very nice amps but they are a wee bit on the expensive side of things. but ive even blown one of them, come to think of it technics is the only hifi amp ive had that hasnt blown, if you can get hold of one of their latest models that would be good
  21. go for PA and get some PA speakers, much louder much more bass and much more satisfying!! trust me its the way forward, especially if you dont get on with your neighbours if you can find em look for some celestion speakers, i have the CR 500 series they are brilliant, at 500watts RMS with 18 inch cones in the bottom a 10" mid range and a horn at the top (Y)
  22. does anybody know what size is needed for a levelboss 1065? cos i got the frame with it in but i believe its previous owner had trouble finding a BB which leads me to think its not the standard 68 x 118mm?
