  1. definitely take the advice from these guys, they have it spot on accurate. Another problem you are going to come across is that you wont get ranked on search engines, basically search engines work on the content and the amount of people that visit the site. The "robots" cant read images and thats entirely what your site is made out of but its not images, its an image. Usually people would get around this by adding a description to the image that pops up when the mouse is held over an image for a few seconds. Seeing as you only have one image you can only have one description meaning that you aren't going to get good rankings on a search engine at all. You want to make a website with real HTML text included, robots will read this and give you the rankings along with more viewers to the site. You can try such things as yahoo sitebuilder, available free from yahoo its a brilliant starter program if you don't know html and the templates are quite nice, they are also easily transferable into dreamweaver :S stu (Y)
  2. ive tried that :D doesnt work in the way i want it to!!! i do have a fairly good idea about things but that is a simple one to try. Also i havent started that course yet, it seems i may be getting stuck into a programming course first (Y) stu :S
  3. ive got a frame on the left hand side along with a top frame, now the top frame is fine working between resolutions from 800*600 upwards. The left hand side frame though, it will only show the area on screen ie: people sometimes dont open up their browsers in full size windows, i know i certainly dont do this all the time. How are people going to see what goes all the way to the bottom of the frame? the content inside it smaller simply wont help because as the window gets smaller even more of the content gets cut off. What would be really good is that as the window is dragged into size using the bottom right corner of the browser that the content shrinks itself up to always stay visibile, any ideas on how? stu (Y)
  4. download the trial version from www.adobe.com its quite easily done, then pm me for more "details" :) stu (Y)
  5. why do so many people think this is the best option? with this comes the need to re-configure an entire computer, reinstall everything down to the sound and graphics card to mention the amount of lost work what i would try doing is going to start > run > tap in "msconfig" a box will appear, click the startup tab at the top, anything with unwanted names like "toolbar, bargain, search, find, save," etc. want to be unticked, this primarily stops them from loading up with windows thus fixing the problem with minimal fuss. Check your add/remove programs for crap in there along with the program files folder for even further crap. hope that could of helped, stu (Y)
  6. thanks Fr!ka, i started learning to use it yesterday but i never went through it at school and never made it to college :)" guess im gonna have to learn from websites etc. cheers for the links (Y) stu ;)
  7. but my Internet Explorer uses port 8080, surely if this was blocked off then i wouldnt be able to view any webpages?
  8. we have the novell security on our network i know that much. First i tried it on "no proxy" setting that dont work then i tried the HTTP1.1 as the proxy using my server address and the port as 8080 but that dont work either. Im running out of ideas. :-" Stu :P
  9. if the computer hasnt been used in a long time the battery back up would have probably died, if it did then you may have noticed loads of settings thrown out, if this is the case then you could do with reinstalling the software for the graphics card, that would probably sort it. Have you tried connecting it to the net and going to windows update that may find new software for the graphics card and other important updates. thats about all i can think of. Im just gonna leave this post up so you lot can realise how much of a t w a t i was and wrote all this out for nothing :"> catchya later dudes.
  10. im a humble levelboss chum, 1065 as it were. Gotta say they are lovely though, second hand price tag and brilliant strength and geometry. Thanks KOXX stu ;)
  11. its probably more than i can do so noice one mate. Ive gotta start learning this program, ive managed to get a job as a web designed but dont have a clue about making images other than some sexy landscapes using Terragen. I have adobe photoshop 8 with this imageready thing that comes with it, so any pointers on good, quick (ish) ways of learning would be appreciated kindly. stu ;)
  12. i just want to add in on this for you mate, IF? and im guessing you are making a website make dynamic drive your new friend, on there it has some pretty amazing Dynamic Hyper Text Markup Languages In turn meaning DHTML all the scripts are pretty written source codes that it tells you were to put them in the website how to use them and how to configure them to your liking. I must say i have found this site very usefull for making some snazzy things with websites like navigation bars, fading effect news tickers, fading pictures, effects on opening links in "new window" just give em a look it shows all examples on the site, and will hopefully get you to understand the way scripts work etc. who knows you could make a job out of it if you like it. Christ i should get paid for advertising here! stu ;)
  13. im trying to use Bit Comet as has been talked about on here before i think and all i keep getting is it saying "connecting" for hours!! Now i believe its the firewall settings on the network server, we are on a wireless connection internal network connection of 106mbps and a internet connection of 10mbps, i heard of a thing called HTTP tunnel, i dont really know much about it but the general jist of it is that it runs along the same port as the web browser ? if im wrong please correct me. I have tried working with things like Ares, BearShare etc. but get get the same problem so i thought i would go for this torrents thing. Basically i wanna be able to download music from work because of the great connection we have and unlimited bandwidth, along with the amount of time im here per day ;) Any recommendations on either programs or ways around this would be absolutely gorgeous and you can have a big fat KISS for it (Y) cheers, stu
  14. cheers for that, thats my previous option that i was going for, i didnt like the idea of writing out the listing etc. plus finding the front cover i thought it would be nice to find a back one and do a DIY job of it  cheers anyway, stu ;)
  15. ive been running the FR on the rear for about a year now and have ALWAYS had the XP Pro 2.1 on the front, i do love them 2.1 for a front tyre, they are light, pretty good looking, do well on the puncture protection and they are pretty cheap. excellent in my opinion i must say. Now for the rear tyre, i also think they are pretty damn good, if you are running a wider rim on the back such as a koxx rim, echo etc. then you probably dont need to be worrying about punctures. I always used to run the D521 / EX721 by mavic and i would get punctures if the pressure was a little low. With a wide rim however i dont seem to hardly ever get punctures, ok so your blatently gonna get yourself a puncture if you run 2psi and smack it again the edge of a big sharp wall constantly but then im sure you have a lot more common sense than that! (Y) Tank_rider has a point about wetness, dont be gapping to stupid hand rails in the wet, now thats asking for punishment! Overall great value for money, the tread lasts pretty damn long and they will grip fairly well, the rear tyre just has a bit of weight to it ;) stu
  16. i have obtained godskitchen classics, the latest one but i have no album cover for it, i have sourced a copy of the front but i cant find one of the back with the track listings etc. If anybody has one could it please be emailed to broomyboy742@hotmail.com or posted up on here, thanks, stu ;)
  17. go down B&Q or Argooos and buy one of them value toolset things, no problemos. Plus you get a heap of other tools you never wanted and will eventually use on something to bring it to life or death  stu :S
  18. if you want to start off making websites yahoo sitebuilder available from the yahoo website is free and gives you some handy little templates to start off with. If however you are experienced use macromedia dreamweaver simply because thats the best program most of us have ever used. Adobe photoshop for anything you want to do with images. Macromedia Flash for all the tarty little things you want. Making a website does take a lot of time, sometimes you will make a whole template for a page then come up with an idea you want to squeeze into it and realise it wont go at all, so you end up re-making the templates again, again and once more again! All bearing in mind that you want to keep it fast to load up for the less fortunate people still on 56k dial-up modems :S stu
  19. ive been through this, i was with my girlfriend for just under a year then she decides to tell me she doesnt love me anymore!! THANKS! Dont try going out finding another girl, cos all you will do is compare every single new girl to your ex and will constantly be finding things wrong with them and just making it hard on yourself, dont do it! Take some time out, do what you love doing best and try to forget about it all, i know its not easy. Its about a year ago it happened to me and i can say im still not over her. Just take time and take it easy, someone will appear to you eventually and you will know when they are the right person. Till then keep it cool, keep riding, stu (Y) p.s. when it comes to it just masturbate!!!
  20. thats brilliant thanks to Joe and Fr!ka Frika you may have to teach me how to do that, ive still got you in my msn contacts. cheers, stu (Y)
  21. i dunno what .psd files are? it would just be really handy if someone could do this for me, doesnt have to be brilliant but its gotta be better than my attempt :"> cheers, stu (Y)

  23. Well im pretty crap at the image editing at the moment, i am planning on learning it but i havent got round to it yet. This picture of an iglo, i made the background using a program, then cropped the iglo and stuck it on the background, now i need some text added but havent got the skills to get it looking right. It needs BOYCE'S BAR across the top piece of black sign On the big black strip across the midle it needs to say ICE COLD DRINKS If anybody can sort this for me i would really really apreciate that. cheers, stu (Y)
  24. brilliant video, top marks for it, its good to see a video with some variation in it and different riders with their own styles. Your doing good keep it up, stu (Y)
