Should Smokers Get Free Health Care On The Nhs?
spunkey_monkey_boy replied to Smo™'s topic in Chit Chat
all of the above except dangerous sports because eating, drinking smoking etc you ARE damaging your health where as in sports you only damage yourself when you f**k up... -

alex you talk complete crap at times! there are comps in north wales it's just alex doesn't turn up to meetings etc to find out, there will be a comp the last weekend of july and if we get insurance in time one in mid may. you don't have to be a club member to enter the events but its cheaper if you are and you don't need a license. email - freeridetrials_club@yahoo.co.uk for more info cheers tom

i'm up for it but i'll have to find some kind soul who has space in their car for me :) it'd be an absiloute blast but we'd have to make sure we had enough camera with us to turn it into the most mental trials vid ever once we were back home :o
-
clive has built a frame that took a koxx rim but he doesn't know if a leeson will take the koxx tyres... if your buying new then just send him your wheel with the rim/tyre choice and he'll make sure it fits (within reason 'expects some fool to ask for a leeson that'll take a large marge')

that excactly what we did here in north wales, i've been wanting there to be trials events here for the last 10 years and then decided f**k it, no one else is going to do it so i will and now just a few months down the line we've had 2 great events and are planning another 2 for the next few months!
-
we're going to do 4/5 routes, not sure if we'll do begginer and novice or combine the two but the other catgories will all be there (intermediate, expert and elite). if we can get the comp done on the first day and have a chilled riding session with poss bike battle on day 2 then anyone who doesn't want to compete but wants to come along will still get to ride and anyone who doesn't like bike battle formats can do the normal comp :o

so is anyone coming or will i be riping it up all alone??? -
as phil has said the council insurance covers all riders who sign in and pay either day membership or are annual members. any riders who don't pay up and sign in are not insured. by the time of the next event we may have our own insurance but again this will cover both organisers and participants. basically if everyone follows the guidelines we set down then eveyone is insured, if anyone tries bending the rules or skipping the entry fee's then they will be covered by nothing except my wrath when i catch them :) we are currently looking into 3 different venues for the event, one which would have a nice mix of natural and man made, one which would be purely natural and the last we've yet to see and decide on. things are looking good for the next event, probable format will be comp on the saturday and open riding (within a marked area) on the sunday but we'll have to see how many people we get entering :o
-
i looked at the calendar and saw the world round, i didn't wana clash but i'm guessing i wasn't paying attention and i guess the world round is not in the UK? right this is the last time i'm chaning the date! now going to run the weekend 30/31st july. thats bloody ages away (Y) gives us time to organise an amazing comp/event (N) please note this event although based around a comp will be a great oppourtunity for riders to come along and see how a comp runs and also get chance to ride.
-
trains? our events all have good rail conections (N)
-
what freeridetrials club are trying to do is encourage more people into events by making them easier to get to (all close to good rail connections) and fun so that people aren't intimidated to come along. unfortunately the last event wasn't the success it could have been and i think that if people realised what the club are actually about (fun enjoyable comps+rides for all) then the events would be packed out. the next comp we do will be well organised and FUN so if anyone is considering doing a comp but is scared off the others come along to ours and you'll have a great laugh (N) waynio - i think comunication between the northern trials clubs would benefit us all. maybe we should get club contacts and then all work together getting new riders into comps. tom

drive a lada off a high enough cliff and it'll go fast...

i was talking to clive the other night about a super low and long leeson and he's said that he wouldn't want to go any lower than he has on jon's frame and doesn't want to alter the design too much because the leesons handle well the way they are, if he started rising bb's and changing the geo they wouldn't handle like leesons. he also said he like the fact that leesons look like normal bikes (ie: seat, normal double triangle etc) and for that reason i wouldn't expect to see a uci leeson. jon - that is pure sex mate, i've been looking foward to the pics since i spoke to clive. nice bike ;)
