  1. It's probably a combination of absurdly slow server ,and the fact that it's so damned far away . Which browser are you using ? Try it with Internet Explorer and Mozilla , It's running fine in my Mozilla , ( having taken several minutes to load .)

  3. Kinda curious about other custom bashguards . There was a topic ages hence , but I expect many more fine pieces have been made since . Any good creations ?
  4. ... Had to be done , this thread will probably get bumped up in like 4 weeks anyway .

    G-turns

Such a complex move , as my screen name suggests I'm very fond of front wheel moves , but this has long eluded my sense of balance . I seem to remember Tim Pratt's section in Trial Media 1 involving a lot of G-turn related absurdity , useful to watch and see the body posture / balance point . Good luck with the move , sooo sweet when mastered .
  6. Allah be praised for low standover frames ... neat bail dude , quick reflexes . Kind of the sign for an experienced rider is watching how he bails , a good rider will recognise disaster and bail , where a n00b will try to go down with the ship . I will await the video with great interest .
  7. Great idea , but I don't think it'll be much use me submitting footage of riding spots here in Holland . Quite curious abot the Woking and South East U.K locations though , my old territory .
  8. Damn ! Some very talented photographers on this forum . Great montages of great riding , I so miss the U.K riding scene . The red bike popping out of the bowl - a Pace ?
  9. I'm always enthused by anything related to BASE , but I'm afraid the download stops and then hangs with like , a few MB to go .

    Overhang

Well explained , but you forgot two variables : fork rake and handlebar sweep . These will only account for minor differences , but can radically affect the " feel " of the bike . I don't think there's any right or wrong here , it's largely down to personal prefference and the other componentry you will be running .
  11. Congratulations on this very good video , really like it . Some really neat riding there and great locations too , be grateful of such good spots . One of the credited riders uses an evolve , is that Norco's ?
  12. Neat photos , you broke ribs landing that gap to boat ? Fierce , but well done for retuning to complete the move .
  13. It's a custom piece , manufactured for me by a trials riding buddy out here in Holland , who has acess to a CNCing machine . It's pretty light as it has lots of material machined off the back and is plenty tough . It was supplied as just raw unpainted aluminium , but I'm such a colour coordination whore , I just had to get the spraycans out . Thought I'd take these better shots , since I needed to remove the crank arm to replace the destroyed chainring anyway . Still amazed at the deformation of the chainring , how did my chain remain intact , but the ring get destroyed ?

  15. Oh , the regret at a misspent youth , why didn't I start riding at like 6-7 years old ? Stevie must be pretty damn ed good by now , but it does go to show that there's no substitute for practice and time invested .
  16. Some further additions , this is all so recognizable from our beloved Trials forum : 2 more to start a small "off-topic" cliquey sub-conversation about switches 1 more to post a Photoshopped light bulb picture in a compromising position 1 more to break forum rules by posting a link to an illegal bulb download site.
  17. For well over a year now , I've affixed my front chainring ( 22t) with those lightweight blue anodised chainring bolts , thinking I'd save well over half a gramme and add to my colour scheme . Today , while just pedal kicking around , the drivetrain gave an almighty bang , and I thought " there goes another chain ." Turns out that one of the chainring bolts had snapped , allowing the ring to totally deform , as shown in diagram A : I'd never seen a chainring do this , perhaps O.K if it's one of those light T.A ones , but this is bog standard Shimano steel 22t . On the positive side , it's kinda reassuring that my chain didn't snap ( a cheapo Sachs PC-Somethingorother.) Oh , what fun having to carry my bike back home , looks so professional and smooth .

  19. Ahahah , brilliant , Onzaboymark , neat photoshoppage . ( I hope .) And yeah , it does get annoying , because I fight my curiosity until I surrender and click the link to find out what the Hell the thread is about .
  20. Deng / Echo are responsible for Czar ? O.K , guess I never saw that coming , makes me realise that I may think I'm interested in different manufacturers , but it's still all the same ( good ) company .
  21. I think we can consider Karma in very rational terms , without the need for spiritualistic embellishments . The choices we made took us where we are now , and we are already creating our tomorrows . It's common sense , really , or as Rowly stated , cause and effect . It may seem that the immoral and greedy are rewarded , but true friendships and peace of mind cannot be bought .
  22. However well made the chain you choose is , ensure that it's set up and maintained well , too . Given the rate you were destroying them earlier "...It was getting to the stage of 1 chain a week..." I'm beginning to suspect that either they weren't joined correctly , or your sprockets may have been damaged . Check and clean your whole drivetrain before fitting whatever replacement you buy . Of course , it could just be bad luck , we've all had Repeated Chain Failure Syndrome at some time . Good luck with it , let us know how you get on .
  23. Especially annoying when they type a short statement : ( To use your example ) ^^ Simon ^^ - Damn I wish I didn't have such a good time last night....says: Yep.
  24. Copy / pasted from another forum , so true , though : How many forum members does it takes to change a light bulb? 1 to change the light bulb and to post that the light bulb has been changed 14 to share similar experiences of changing light bulbs and how the light bulb could have been changed differently 7 to caution about the dangers of changing light bulbs 1 to move it to the Lighting section 2 to argue then move it to the Electricals section 7 to point out spelling/grammar errors in posts about changing light bulbs 5 to flame the spell checkers 3 to correct spelling/grammar flames 6 to argue over whether it's "lightbulb" or "light bulb" ... another 6 to condemn those 6 as stupid 2 industry professionals to inform the group that the proper term is "lamp" 15 know-it-alls who claim they were in the industry, and that "light bulb" is perfectly correct 19 to post that this forum is not about light bulbs and to please take this discussion to a lightbulb forum 11 to defend the posting to this forum saying that we all use light bulbs and therefore the posts are relevant to this forum 36 to debate which method of changing light bulbs is superior, where to buy the best light bulbs, what brand of light bulbs work best for this technique and what brands are faulty 7 to post URL's where one can see examples of different light bulbs 4 to post that the URL's were posted incorrectly and then post the corrected URL's 3 to post about links they found from the URL's that are relevant to this group which makes light bulbs relevant to this group 13 to link all posts to date, quote them in their entirety including all headers and signatures, and add "Me too" 5 to post to the group that they will no longer post because they cannot handle the light bulb controversy 4 to say "didn't we go through this already a short time ago?" 13 to say "do a Google search on light bulbs before posting questions about light bulbs" 1 forum lurker to respond to the original post 6 months from now and start it all over again. ( Apologies if old / repost )
