  1. if hes dimond back turns out to be basically a bealey with a cheaper price tag i want one :ermm:
  2. dont know which koxx ones are which but ive had reds and browns on a koxx rim with a grind. the reds seem to have the edge in preformance althought the browns arnt far behind. The wear rate of the reds seems to be alot faster though. this may begin to slow down however. all in all id say they are both good pads what ever they are made from :P anyway im going off topic so im going to shut it :ermm:
  3. Hmm im definatly going to look into something along those lines as my kool chain needs replacing and im looking at getting the thin versoin and putting my gears back on but i dont want to go smacking my knees again :ermm:
  4. I dont think that the ones lnked to by TomN were the ones that i was thinking of  Ali where did you get yours from? and how much were they? also is blue grooves the name of the tyre and what width are they cheers Gavin :S
  5. im sure the new koxx ones are softer and not justa diffenent colour :S as i was cleaning my bike the other day and noticed that they have worn now about half way in about 2 months (red ones) where as my koxx browns took about 8 months to wear that much although the preformance dosent seem to be that differnt
  6. thats lush :S ive always wanted one of those kenny frames and seeing one like that makes me want one even more. BTW koxx should take note of the paint scheame for future referances its loads better.
  7. the Halfords lever covers do fit on HS33 levers and they are foam so they dont get slippy. but i felt that they made the lever feel weird and that i didnt have as much feel over my brake. i only tried them as i found a spare one in the warehouse lol. so personally i wouldnt bother id go with the grin and bare it approch until your skin gets over it  or try tweaking your brake as suggested if you dont already have a grind or tar.
  8. if it is that is a really good idea  because when i ran gears i always hit my knee on my shifter when doing ups and gaps when it was on my bars :S if anyone has any pics i would love to see them :P

    The Bikes Show

after hearing all of the comments and looking at the pics I am very jelous that i couldnt go :S but hopefully il be driving next year so i can go  all I can do is hope for some good vids :P Im relying on you guys please dont disapoint :)
  10. possibly i dont do names :S" anyway he was swearing by them and saying how they were better then peoples maxxies. which 99% of the others were running
  11. weather you find it impressive or not is besides the point after reading the artical in MBUK about it and the history behind it with the injurys etc id say its very impressive and that he is truly pushing himself :S and I am glad to see him do it. :S As he is no longer really a comp rider and more of a demo rider it is a good trick to do as it instantly impresses the crowd weather they know a thing about bikes/trials or not. PS first person to do a backflip on a vinco wins a prize
  12. yer at the cycle show in london last year there was a guy on a t rex with them and they looked nice and seemed to grip really well im not sure where you could get them but you could try asking kenda directly and they may be able to put you in touch with your nearest stockest
  13. Impressing Ot Pi must have been almost as good as winning the final :) well done all four of you :S I look forward to the vid :)
  14. so is martin not sponsered by giant anymore :) if so everyone is on the move (Y)

    Saracen Mad

looks nice :- i was thinking about building my mad up again just for the memories :)" only thing id do would be to put risers on it as i found mine was 10 times easier to ride without the mad flats :- other then that maybe a smaller cassette to shave some weight but other then that :- long live the mad's :D
  16. noooooooooooooooo! i tried it a while back it works well but as it leaves the rim sticky after about 20 mins of riding you will have gained so much crap on your rim your brake will be pooh. (just amagin selotape dragged round outside and that will be what yur rim will look like :o ) i found this out last winter and it hurt lots..............
  17. hmm ive got my test in exactly a month tomoro im well nervous about it but hopefully i will pass (Y) tips i have been given from my instructor are: if they ask you to pull over and then pull off straight away dont rush and finish securing the car and start again as this is what they will be looking for. if some body lets you into traffic by flashing their light etc have a look around and tell the examiner that you can see that it is safe before moving. (as this is where somebody i know mucked up) other then that just try and relax and drive as you usually would because if your instructor thinks that you are ready and if you drive like you usually do you will pass :P best of luck :P
  18. ID like to take this time to say thanks to the nice lady at the onza/supercycles stand at the cycle show who gave me one  i got purple (Y)
  19. Ah nice il phone them when i get a chance and il see what they say :) ive had them a couple of months now though. (Y) BTW if the new bash is stronger these are definatly good cranks to go for :)
  20. I brought the tensiles over some burns as i ruined the pedal thread in my burns that I had previously and the replacable insert seemed like a good idea. i am very impressed with them as they seem plenty stiff and strong. I havent had a problem with them eating my shoes but i have found i kept hitting my ankles on the bit behind the crank bolts as this seems to stick ot a lot (prob doesnt help that im using a massive bb ) this is very painful but i brought some ankle gards and it is no longer a problem. the only down side that i have found is the 22t bash as i hit it on a wall (not that hard) and it dented  . It kind of cracked where it had been drilled to save weight and then the metal had been pushed in the next time i hit it. Personally I think the holes should have been left out as then the bash would be a lot stronger and only a couple of grams heavier. but i run a 20t ring so the dent doesnt effect me it just looks bad lol anyway in my opinion top cranks for the money :ermm: (Y) Cheers Gavin
  21. I get £4.80 an hour i think but i heard that they were changing it to £4.20 for people that started this year :P i read this somewhere but it may not be true so check it out or better still ask your mate (Y) working there is pretty good at our store all the staff are really friendly and get on well together and i met two new people to ride trials with that work there :S only downside to the job are times when it is real busy as these can be pritty stressfull especialy when all the people that have problems with bikes turn up at once  as these situations can produce pritty bitchy customers :) but for somebody that likes bikes its a pritty good job :) + been able to get 15% off of parts for your car and bike is always a bonus :)
  22. WTF ferrie's ? :P ive heard the cassete would break before the hub would skip if you could actually put that much power into a hub lol anyway all that matters is they work very well for trials :P i didnt really notice a lack of engagement with a hope xc but i do know when i ride one after my king :wink2: but they arent really a neccesity (SP) i just got a pair cause i had some money to spend :P" you could ride just as well with a hope as proved by many top riders without them. :D Gavin :P
  23. anyway back to topic is anyone going to ride southend on sunday? :-
  24. yeah im a southend local so me and a few others could meet up with u if u wish? there are quite a few other riders from the area but they have all been riding basildon recently so i dont know whether they would be interested but they are members of this forum so if they see the topic they may come (Y)
  25. i really like the bealy frame though :( :)
