  1. im sure the alu driveshell and std. axle will work. it does. i bought my king hub with hd axle and steel driveshell. i think it was worth it, and hope to have a hub that lasts a fair while. my hub has skipped a fair few times, but that is apparently mostly down to my ignorance, as i am a lazy f**k and can't be arsed with bedding the hub in riding xc/road. i built it up, and rode trials on it straight out of the box.
  2. i think there is a strong link. my dad used to ride enduro and mx, and was all into mechanical stuff as a wee kid. he is a civil engineer, and taught me how to fix stuff early in my life.. i love mucking about with tools and taking things apart to see how they work. im studying aviation technology (posh name for mechanical design) and fibre technics at college at the mo, am on my third and final year.. after this i will probably study something related to mechanical design or similar at uni-level.
  3. main concept mpg encoder does it all.
  4. you can just grind a bit of the lever blade off and get more lever travel with the '05. that's what most people on the continent and scandinavian peninsula have done. other than that, i havent had to touch mine, apart from bleeding of course. great levers, though the blade is a bit slippy.

    I Have...

Si. they use fixed cogs for a few reasons. one is that they do not need brakes on the bikes, which makes them more low-maintenance, and saves a bit of weight. there seems to be a fixed-cog culture among couriers.. pedalling all the time should get you places faster really, as you can't simply coast along... i'd like to try a fixie, but i'd probably die, or at least kill my shins big-time.
  14. nah patt aint fat. you're making me scared.

  16. Sunny Akuffo wanted to make me rich. woop.
  17. clutch down, drop a gear or two depending on speed, release clutch slowly. car will slow down because engine will be forced to rev up due to the lower speed but similar wheel speed. and because the engine is stubborn and angry, the wheels will be slowed down. ish.
