  1. oh yeah lol, good job I have an opticians appointment on monday
  2. personally, with that frame having vee brake mounts, I would just upgrade to a better vee. You won't have to mess with nasty evo 2 mounts then and the brake will be better than a magura
  3. selling frames cheaper from his own shop than he charges to retailers.
  4. discs are powerful enough, if I rode mod I would have rear disc no question. On a stock though, no matter what spokes and pattern you use, it will be more vague than stopping the wheel on the rim. another factor is hitting the rotor when missing a move (like a sidehop) and trashing it. Personally I am a huge fan of vee brakes, you mention water and oil making the performance weak, well Hydraulic rim brakes have the same issues, that"s why you grind the rims, to give the most braking power in all conditions. Combine a grind with some good pads, then the brake power is amazing. The same can be done for vee brakes, plus vees actually have a higher mechanical power so can work better than a hydraulic system and they have a lot more advantages too.
  5. possibly the only frame with bent tubes I like. Shame Bruno has as much business sense as a week old lamb so these frames wont be seen as much as they could be

    Inpulse Bikes Uk

    Very strange decision
  7. bought, £21 with headset, cranks and bb
  8. mine's a short vee version, went for a price I couldn't refuse
  9. nope, none left. I do have an 04 pure in my shed though, but I picked that up recently for old times sake. Just remembered, the Pashley was from 1998, in 99 I had a Merlin generic 14" frame, no pics of that though. In 1997 I had my GT Avalanche (1996 model going cheap). It had cantilever brakes, 18" frame, 1.95" tyres, triple chainrings and 24" wide flat bars. I still managed to come 3rd in my first year of comps on that bike, shows how much the level has increased! No pics unfortunately, but I do still have the frame
  10. yeah your right, Trialtech/Inspired are pretty good. I don't think it's made at the same factory, the amount of time Dave put into finding the place would suggest not anyway.
  11. not a great pic, but that is my Pashley 26MHZ from 1999 ish my 2001 (I think?) Brisa b26 me riding it my 2002 (?) monty 231, it was pretty sweet. my 2003(?) monty urban, also quite sweet. my friends Planet X Zebdi My 2000 (?) monty 221 mod (yes, I rode mod for about a year!) my 2004 Echo Pure (ace bike!) my 2005 Global prototype (flexy, but amazing) that's all my old bikes anyway.
  12. that's if you can get past the looks of the limey 3

    Mod Or Stock

if you want to get good quick -mod if you want better allround skills and long term benefits -stock.
  14. out of those, I would possibly go with the Rockman. The Atomz spoke drillings are at some silly angle that puts a sharp bend in the spoke when it leaves the nipple, not good. The other rims are fine too, quite flexy though. The Rockman has flat sidewalls though, so possibly easier to set the brakes up.
  15. true, you can't fry up some tasty goodies in a pad with LGMs
  16. random cables, stickers, disc tab, disc brace, dropout looks like there is a lot going on, random bump on the top of the seat tube.
  17. not the worst bike I have ever seen, it does look a little cluttered though. Any idea on geo?

    Oil On My Pads

White spirit is oil based and leave a tiny residue behind. Meths is alcohol based and totally evaporates, that would be better to use. What pads are they out of interest?
  19. unfortunately there isn't a lot I can think of doing without spending money. I am confident some thinner arms and pads would solve it and work very well.
